Our over all experience was good. However their lack of English speaking guides created some problems for us. We didn’t had any guide in few places like Chefchouan, Sahara and Tangier. Also we would have preferred an air conditioned car for Sahara excursion (as promised). Besides this the trip was good and we enjoyed a lot.

Best tour companies for Morocco tours
Looking at these three Morocco tour companies, each offers something different that travelers really value. TourRadar gets solid feedback for keeping things running smoothly - their high-speed train connections between cities are particularly well organized. Culture Trip's guides make a real difference to the experience. Hassan and Redouan consistently receive praise from travelers for sharing deep cultural knowledge and taking good care of everyone's needs throughout the journey. Intrepid covers a lot of ground with varied trips and hands-on local experiences. Their guides Said and Mo earn great reviews - Said knows all the best cycling routes while Mo handles the trekking groups with expertise. One note though: some Intrepid travelers mentioned their groups included people who struggled with the physical demands, which slowed things down at times. The transport approach really sets these companies apart - TourRadar uses those fast trains effectively, while the others focus more on specialized journeys by bike or foot. Each style works well for different types of travelers depending on how active they want to be during their Morocco trip.
Best places to start your Morocco tour
Most people kick off their Morocco trip from Casablanca, which is where 48 of our most popular tours start, while Marrakesh isn't far behind with 40 departures. You can also begin in Tangier, Rabat and Fes, though there aren't quite as many options there. Looking at our booking patterns, most travelers lock in their plans about 4 months out - that's 127 days before they go. You'll definitely want to plan ahead if you're thinking about peak season or have your heart set on specific desert camps. For summer trips, I'd actually book even earlier since the more comfortable spring and fall dates tend to fill quickly. The sweet spot for weather is March through May or September through November - you get pleasant temperatures that work well for both city exploring and desert trips. Most people find 10-12 days hits the sweet spot - enough time to see the highlights without rushing around. Some folks stretch it out to explore quiet coastal spots or spend more time with Berber families in the Atlas Mountains. Price-wise, you're looking at about $1,142 per person for two weeks, which covers stays in traditional riads, local food and guided cultural experiences.

What Makes Morocco So Special Compared to Other North African Countries?
You know what's really amazing about Morocco? It's this incredible mix of Arabic Berber and European culture that you just don't find anywhere else in North Africa. The landscape is really diverse too - you've got the Sahara Desert right next to the Atlas Mountains and both Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts. You can actually do things like ride camels through desert dunes one day and then explore these stunning blue-painted streets in Chefchaouen the next. The Dades Gorges are absolutely otherworldly and make for some unforgettable photos.
What Kind of Local Experiences Can You Really Get Into in Morocco?
There's so much hands-on stuff you can do here! In Fes or Marrakech you can join these amazing cooking classes where local experts teach you how to make proper tagine and couscous right in traditional riads. The artisan workshops in Fes' Medina are fascinating - you'll see craftspeople working on pottery leather and weaving just like they've done for centuries. Near Merzouga you can spend time with Gnawa musicians and experience their spiritual music and dancing. One of the best experiences is having dinner Berber-style under the stars in the Sahara it's absolutely magical.
What Natural Areas Can You Visit Outside the Cities and How Do You Get There?
The natural areas here are incredible! The Sahara Desert is probably the highlight - you can explore the Erg Chebbi dunes either by camel or 4x4 from Merzouga. Todra Gorge is stunning with these massive canyon walls and the clearest river you've ever seen - you can get there on tours from Tinghir or go independently. The Dades Valley is another must-see with amazing rock formations and beautiful green oases. If you're feeling adventurous try the "Cycle Morocco" tour that takes you right through Todra Gorge.
Where Are the Hidden Gems That Tourists Often Miss?
You've got to check out Meknes! It's this incredible former imperial city that most people skip but it has some amazing sites like the Bab Mansour gate and Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Chefchaouen is another special place tucked away in the Rif Mountains - it's so peaceful and those blue streets are a photographer's dream. Moulay Idriss is really interesting too - it's a sacred pilgrimage site with beautiful white buildings and traditional guesthouses. The "Essential Morocco" budget tour lets you stay with a local family there which is such a unique experience.
