  I really struggled with how to rate this experience. If I could give our driver Hamid 10 stars I would. He was incredible. He was kind, funny & informative. Now for the rest of the tour…. The tour was billed as a “fully guided tour” and it said we’d “have an English speaking guide with us at all times.” While we found that to be technically true, it wasn’t really what I was expecting. At various stops (medinas in Fes & Marrakech) we would be met by a guide who was hired to work specifically with us. Other places (Volbulis, mosque in Casablanca) we paid an entrance fee and were assigned an English speaking guide. In Volbulis it was just us with our guide, but in the mosque we were part of a much larger group of tourists. It may have been me being naive but I expected that on a fully guided tour we’d have the same someone along with us that would be able to answer questions as they arose. Hamid did a great job answering what he could, but he didn’t always know the answer. The places we stayed were for the most part very nice and in one case absolutely exceptional (Riad Gabsi in the Dades Valley). Our biggest complaint was the desert camp in the Sahara. It was about 110 degrees when we arrived. We got on our camels & headed out to the desert & we passed camps where the tents had AC units but when we arrived at our camp there was no AC at all. We ended up going back to the hotel associated with the camp which did have AC. Thank goodness they had availability. Other things to keep in mind when booking this tour. There’s a lot of driving. The scenery is absolutely beautiful (often in a US southwestern desert way). When meals are included it’s generally food only. I totally get not including sodas, but you don’t even get water without paying for it. We found that we were drinking about 2L of water each a day because it was so hot, and it seemed ridiculous to not be given a bottle of water at dinner! Overall I go back and forth about recommending this tour. I know a lot more about Morocco, and I know where I want to go & where I wouldn’t bother going again. 99.9% of everyone we met was wonderful, helpful, and happy. Having.a driver is a must - navigating the traffic, endless police stop points (we were mostly waived through) would be next to impossible if you don’t speak Arabic or Berber. I think my recommendation would be to either do a longer tour covering the same places, or a tour the same length but cutting out a few stops…

  We really had a wonderful trip. The route was perfect for first acquaintance with Morocco and our driver, Ismail, is a really great driver who took care of everything we needed, which definitely enhanced our experience. The places we visited were well chosen and beautiful, the landscapes we saw – amazing. People of Morocco were friendly and welcoming. We were given an option to book our own accommodations, and it worked out great for us. Special thanks to our driver and guide, Ismail, who always took the best care of us and was always available. He was a safe driver, hospitable, friendly, and flexible. We felt at ease with him, and it made our trip even better. Highly recommend this trip and our driver to everyone.

  We are an Australian couple early 50s to set the context. We travelled with Morocco Tours from late Dec to early Jan with our guide Karim by van in a party of 6. The tour was as described. We did a lot of travelling to cover the vast country to experience a taste of Morocco from the blue city of Chefchaouen to the dessert dunes of Merzouga and into the Medinas of each city. The accommodation was in traditional Riads where possible which made for an authentic feel (Note can't recall any lifts, so lots of steps :-)) The culture and people of Morocco were beautiful and made the experience one to remember. Karim our guide was exceptional in making the tour run smoothly and adjusting the trip slightly to accommodate stops here and there. We travelled in early Jan which made for pleasant weather, cool crisp days and blue skies made the drive through the different changing landscapes spectacular. Each stop was different with some different to offer. Highlights were : Chefchaouen the city is filled with great photo opportunities, with the locals going to great lengths to dress up their lane/ passage with objects of contrasting colours to make great back drops. The tannery in Fes was smelly but great to see from the top. The medinas were great especially in Fes and Marrakech. If you are going clockwise, note that you may not see the same items in each Medina, so if you like something buy it !!. In Fes, the Clock Cafe is worth a visit along with with other traditional dining. We were careful with what we ate and Karim always advised what to do and not do at each stop. We also had an off-tour hike through the mountains around Dades valley stop which was kind of special and scary at the same time. The extra tour guides at each location were very informative and provided a different perspective. So if you are okay with long drives and in and out of suitcases this is for you. We will definitely return to Morocco again to visit our favourite places.

  Our guide Hassan was great- he was a safe driver, hospitable, friendly, and flexible. Our itinerary was perfect- we particularly loved our time in the Sahara. We feel like we were able to get a sense of each city and the different parts of Morocco on this tour. It is quite a bit of driving but we did not mind it as it allows you to see the different landscapes and towns of Morocco and get a few naps in. We would recommend this trip and our guide Hassan to any of our family and friends.
