  Great experience. Our driver, Zac, 10/10. He was very accommodating and available for all our travel requests. Some of the designated lunch stops seemed to cater for tourist and had over inflated pricing that didn't aligned with local prices. The trip was incredibly fast paced that made it difficult to capture and explore the stops that were planned. There is a lot of driving, even though breaks were frequent and when accommodated when requested. However, it felt like the days were full of just driving. Some accommodations were less than ideal, the overnight accommodation in the desert served cold dinners, there was no hot water for showers, and we were not aware that drinks (at a minimum, water) was not included with the meal.

  Beautiful Experience but Needs Better Management Our overall experience in Morocco was memorable — the itinerary was well designed, covering a great variety of landscapes and cultural spots. The land coverage was impressive, and the local people we met, especially at guesthouses, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our driver (Mr. Abdullatif) was kind, helpful, and patient throughout the journey. A special thanks goes to our tour guide in Fes (Mr. Reda), whose knowledge, attitude, and professionalism truly stood out. He made the city come alive for us. However, there were several issues that unfortunately affected the quality of the trip: 1. Vehicle Condition – The car had over 156,000 km and broke down twice due to the same mechanical problem, in addition to a flat tire. These incidents caused delays, forced us to arrive late at destinations, and sometimes prevented us from exploring planned sites. The AC was also affected after the breakdowns. Proper maintenance or vehicle replacement after the first incident would have prevented these inconveniences. 2. ⁠Tour Guides’ Quality – While our guide in Fes was exceptional, others were not at the expected level. In Marrakech, the guide seemed more interested in store commissions than providing historical or cultural insights. Another guide at the Roman Ruins spoke too fast and was difficult to understand by the whole group. In several cases, we found more useful information through online research than through the assigned guides. 3. ⁠Itinerary Details – Although the itinerary covered amazing places, it lacked detailed information such as entry fees (many required cash) and what was or wasn’t included in the package. This made budgeting and planning on-site difficult. 4. ⁠Accommodation Standards – The quality of accommodations was inconsistent and mostly below expectations for the price paid. The most disappointing experience was in Chefchaouen, where the room was filthy and moldy; we had to leave during the night and find another guesthouse. Other hotels were better but still not up to the advertised standard. 5. ⁠Communication & Coordination – Some last-minute changes were made without clear communication. We often had to follow up to confirm details such as departure times and accommodations, which added unnecessary stress. In conclusion, Morocco itself was incredible, and the people made it special. With better maintenance of vehicles, clearer communication, more qualified guides, and improved accommodation standards, this tour could easily be a 5-star experience but I would give it 3.

  I really struggled with how to rate this experience. If I could give our driver Hamid 10 stars I would. He was incredible. He was kind, funny & informative. Now for the rest of the tour…. The tour was billed as a “fully guided tour” and it said we’d “have an English speaking guide with us at all times.” While we found that to be technically true, it wasn’t really what I was expecting. At various stops (medinas in Fes & Marrakech) we would be met by a guide who was hired to work specifically with us. Other places (Volbulis, mosque in Casablanca) we paid an entrance fee and were assigned an English speaking guide. In Volbulis it was just us with our guide, but in the mosque we were part of a much larger group of tourists. It may have been me being naive but I expected that on a fully guided tour we’d have the same someone along with us that would be able to answer questions as they arose. Hamid did a great job answering what he could, but he didn’t always know the answer. The places we stayed were for the most part very nice and in one case absolutely exceptional (Riad Gabsi in the Dades Valley). Our biggest complaint was the desert camp in the Sahara. It was about 110 degrees when we arrived. We got on our camels & headed out to the desert & we passed camps where the tents had AC units but when we arrived at our camp there was no AC at all. We ended up going back to the hotel associated with the camp which did have AC. Thank goodness they had availability. Other things to keep in mind when booking this tour. There’s a lot of driving. The scenery is absolutely beautiful (often in a US southwestern desert way). When meals are included it’s generally food only. I totally get not including sodas, but you don’t even get water without paying for it. We found that we were drinking about 2L of water each a day because it was so hot, and it seemed ridiculous to not be given a bottle of water at dinner! Overall I go back and forth about recommending this tour. I know a lot more about Morocco, and I know where I want to go & where I wouldn’t bother going again. 99.9% of everyone we met was wonderful, helpful, and happy. Having.a driver is a must - navigating the traffic, endless police stop points (we were mostly waived through) would be next to impossible if you don’t speak Arabic or Berber. I think my recommendation would be to either do a longer tour covering the same places, or a tour the same length but cutting out a few stops…

  We really had a wonderful trip. The route was perfect for first acquaintance with Morocco and our driver, Ismail, is a really great driver who took care of everything we needed, which definitely enhanced our experience. The places we visited were well chosen and beautiful, the landscapes we saw – amazing. People of Morocco were friendly and welcoming. We were given an option to book our own accommodations, and it worked out great for us. Special thanks to our driver and guide, Ismail, who always took the best care of us and was always available. He was a safe driver, hospitable, friendly, and flexible. We felt at ease with him, and it made our trip even better. Highly recommend this trip and our driver to everyone.
