Unfortunately when booking this tour, after completing two other great one life tours, I was unaware that it was infact one life and another company that run this - meaning two separate groups running on separate time schedules. This often led to 1+ hours delays on a daily basis. In all honesty, I'd have probably paid the similar pricing and gone with a tour company that runs their own group tour exclusively for this reason. Our one life guide Mustafa was very good but we also used local guides in each location of varying levels of helpfulness (one spending most of the 3 hours talking about his own faith rather than the location we were hoping to get information on). Overall it was good, and the activities were fantastic but I'd probably opt for a different provider for this one!

Overall such a fun experience! Lots of activities and great insights into the local life. Be ready to spend a lot of time driving around but this means you get to see cities, mountains, beach, and the desert. Loved Mustapha as the guide and karaoke master.

I can highly recommend this 11-days Morocco trip! I enjoyed the time in the desert the most: excellent accommodation in a desert camp, camel ride and jeep safari included. Our guide Mustapha was very knowledgeable and always helpful and friendly.

We've seen many beautiful parts of Morocco. My personal highlight were the sand dunes of the Sahara and the city of Essaouira. But also the other stops and sights were interesting. The downside is that we also spent a lot of time travelling in the bus. Of course we got a good impression of the countryside in the bus and there were some interesting stops in between. For me it was okay, but that is probably the only annoying part of the trip.

The whole Tour was very exciting and full of activities. The desert, Camelriding, jeep driving, the city Essaouira, surfing...it was great. Ok there are 2-3 days of a lot of bus driving too which could perhaps be a liitle bit boring but overall i loved this tour.

This will be very long and detailed, because I’d hate to leave a less than perfect review and not fully explain why. All in all I made a lot of fun memories on this trip, but it was not at all how I expected it to be, in both good and bad ways. To start with the good, I didn’t expect Morocco to be as beautifully diverse a country as it is! The tour itinerary does a great job of showing you all the gorgeous views of Morocco, from the beach, desert, mountains, and markets. Everyday will feel like walking onto a different movie set with all the unbelievable scenery. The local people you meet are always friendly and helpful (minus the sometimes aggressive street vendors that are to be expected). I was also incredibly lucky to have a great group of fellow travellers who I genuinely did not want to stop touring with! For the not so good parts, I didn’t expect the itinerary to change how much it did. Our first two nights we were supposed to stay in a beautiful, highly rated, and somewhat expensive riad. That changed and we stayed at a more common, lower rated riad that was almost half the price of the original one (even though we technically already paid for the expensive riad in our tour price). Our accommodation changed frequently during the trip compared to what’s noted on the itinerary (though it is written on the itinerary that it’s a certain hotel *or similar…guess we always got stuck with the “similar” hotels). Be prepared for accommodation changes. Similarly, our attraction itinerary also changed. We had our fossil visit moved to another day and had our ghost mining town visit completely removed from our trip with no explanation for either. Meal wise, our times and locations were not accurate. Our trip was during Ramadan where the locals fast from sunrise to sunset. Which means our dinners, which normally would be around 6-6:30 had to be rescheduled to 8pm to give our guide and the locals serving dinner time to break their fast. This reasoning is completely understandable, however it was not expected, and frankly not communicated well which caused some issues in the beginning. Our very first night we were all told dinner was 6 and waited around for 2 hours for dinner. Our guide showed up late at 8:30 then walked us to dinner, where we didn’t get our food until after 9pm. Regarding meal locations, those changed too, likely due to Ramadan and Eid. Specifically, our last tour day was Eid, the holy end of Ramadan day. At 10am our guide told us we did not have any reservations for lunch (typically at 12-1pm) or dinner but that people were working on it. The problem was every restaurant was closed for Eid. Eventually we found a nearby and delicious place for lunch, but dinner was not so lucky. After lonnngggggg drive times throughout the tour, we had to drive 45 minutes into the desert just to find a restaurant open for dinner on Eid. Drive times were another thing not expected for me. Other reviews noted that they were long, but I don’t think they emphasized just how long. 6-8 hour drive times on the long days, 2-4 hours on the short days (with stops included). The drives themselves could be full of twists and turns, at high altitudes, and on bumpy unpaved ground. This caused some car sickness to a handful of the travellers with me, so come prepared with medication if that may affect you. Special shoutout to our driver Hassan who kept us safe and on time throughout our journey! A big shock I wasn’t excepting was the lack of support us travellers received on the trip. In one case, a teenage traveller had a situation requiring medical attention. They were not given any help or support from anyone in the company and had to figure it out themselves/with their travel insurance. When they needed information about doctor visits in Morocco, they were given incorrect information by the company that ultimately led to them not receiving the medical attention they needed. They ended up having to wait until they arrived back home to see a doctor. In another scenario, a traveller broke their shoe and seeked help figuring out where to find a repair store. Again, they were given no help and eventually had to turn to hotel staff for support. And lastly, another traveller had their luggage lost by the airline on their flight over. When they were notified that the luggage was in Marrakech airport, they were given minimal support by the company (a driver to the airport was arranged). When the traveller expressed how they didn’t want to go alone, nothing was offered. I ended up sacrificing my free time for that particular day and went with this traveller to pick up their luggage so they wouldn’t be alone (though as noted one of the highlights of this trip was my fellow travellers so I didn’t mind helping them out at all!). There were other instances of travellers being left for hours at the airport with no pick up, or being dropped off in the middle of Marrakech with no directions to the riad. It was extremely shocking for me to see this. Of course we are all adults and could realistically figure all of these situations out ourselves, but part of the price you pay for a group tour is having that local/on the ground support. That was severely lacking during this entire tour. All this being said, myself and my roommates on tour all had numerous years of group tour experience between us (4 previous tours with One Life Adventures combined!) and we can definitely say the organization and support was lacking during this one. For one, our group chat was hardly helpful as little information was put in it. Typically on tours, the chat is used by the guide to post daily itinerary details, free time or food recommendations, weather and packing suggestions etc. None of this was done until about halfway through the tour (likely due to our complaints at the beginning). There was little effort done by the guide to begin introductions and get to know us. All of what we learned about each other was initiated by ourselves. Even something as silly as group games or photos was again always initiated by us. It honestly felt like a self-guided tour more times than not. (In fact, due to all other tour guides being off for Ramadan at the beginning of the tour, we literally did not have a tour guide until day 3.) In the effort of making this review as helpful as possible, here are a few tips we had to learn ourselves along the way! Don’t pet the stray animals - they are unvaccinated! Don’t drink the tap water, and that includes not brushing your teeth with it. Personally, I’d say bringing any size or type of luggage is okay. I know a smaller backpack type is recommended, but you will have a driver throughout so you are never carrying your luggage for too long. At least for the spring season in which I travelled, I would recommend clothing for hot and cold weather. Our lowest temperature on tour was 3 degrees and highest was 28, plus we had a rainstorm in the Sahara desert. Bring a bathing suit for the surfing day (and if you’re hoping to use it in hotel pools be aware none are heated so the water will be extremely cold)! Hand soap and toilet paper is not always guaranteed in washrooms, so bring some in your bag (along with spare change for the public washroom fee). Lastly, for money, bring more than you think you’ll need. Tips are a common thing in Morocco, so you will need to tip every breakfast, lunch, dinner, hotel, and local guides (I.e. camel ride guide, city walking tour guide etc). Plus the tips for your One Life guide and driver. Almost all of us on the trip had to take more money out from an ATM, which is sometimes hard to find a working one, so I’d suggest bringing more money in the first place. Overall, I would say it felt like I had a great self-guided tour wondering around Morocco with a private driver and a group of friends. Unfortunately, I paid for a guided group tour and feel like I didn’t receive the support and leadership that typically comes with organized tours. I would still absolutely recommend visiting Morocco and all its gorgeous scenery, but maybe with another tour company if you truly want that guided tour experience.

Hello everyone, overall I really enjoyed the trip (11 days in Morocco). The absolute highlight was the desert camp, i.e. the desert, and the starry sky in the desert. The coastal town of Essaouira was also fantastic. I would go on vacation here again. Everyone has to be aware that you spend a lot of time on the bus, but you also travel from east to west once (well, twice). The rest days are peppered with many stops, where there is always something nice to see. ("nice panoramic view" was often the phrase we heard). Unfortunately, we didn't meet our guide until day 3, which we didn't really like, but we made the best of it and just found ourselves as a group. The group was really nice and we were like one big family. It was really nice to be part of this group. If someone makes the trip during Ramadan, there may be certain changes, e.g. closure of various stores, late dinners, etc. Unfortunately, we were told in advance that there would be no changes when we asked about this. All in all, you really get to see a lot of the country on this tour.
