7 Day Morocco Itinerary, incl. Casablanca and Marrakech
A magnificent 7-day route through 15 Moroccan cities from Casablanca to Sahara showcases Hassan II Mosque, Chefchaouen's blue medina, UNESCO-listed Fes and Volubilis, with camping in Merzouga desert, concluding in Marrakech's souks. Traditional riad stays included, rated 4.7/5 by travelers.
- Day 1
Casablanca to Chefchaouen
- Day 2
Chefchaouen to Fes
Explore Chefchaouen in the morning. "The blue streets are best photographed before 10 AM when the light is soft and crowds are thin." Stop at Volubilis Roman ruins on your way to Fes. Take water and sun protection since the archaeological site offers minimal shade. You'll reach Fes late afternoon. Pick a riad inside the medina for the local experience.
- Day 3
Fes
- Day 4
Fes to Merzouga Desert
Get ready for a long drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Visit Ifrane, known as "Little Switzerland." Look for Barbary macaques in the cedar forests. Bring carrots if you want to feed them. Get to Merzouga for a sunset camel ride. A visitor notes: "Even in warm seasons, bring warm layers. Desert nights can drop to 40°F (4°C)."
- Day 5
Merzouga to Dades Valley
- Day 6
Dades Valley to Marrakech
Take the Road of 1000 Kasbahs to Ait Benhaddou. Get there early to beat the crowds. Drive through Tizi n'Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains, North Africa's highest road at 7,415 feet. "The switchbacks are intense, but the mountain views are incredible." You'll reach Marrakech by late afternoon.
- Day 7
Marrakech
7 Days in Northern Morocco, incl. Casablanca and Marrakech
Morocco's finest unfolds over 7 days: 2 nights in blue Chefchaouen, 2 in historic Fès exploring ancient tanneries, and final nights in Marrakech's vibrant Djemaa el Fna. The route connects 5 cities from Casablanca's coast to Marrakech's medina.
- Day 1
Casablanca
Plan to visit Hassan II Mosque early on your arrival day. Tours run at 9 AM, 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, and 3 PM except Fridays. A recent visitor shared: "Get to the Hassan II Mosque before the 9 AM tour for the best photos without crowds." Take 3-4 hours to walk through the medina and see the Art Deco buildings. Meet your group in the city center for an evening orientation.
- Day 2
Casablanca to Chefchaouen
Take the 4-hour morning drive up the Atlantic coast to Rabat. You'll want 2-3 hours to see the capital's old quarter and Kasbah des Oudaias before heading to Chefchaouen. The road gets twisty in the Rif Mountains so bring motion sickness pills if you need them. Take an evening walk through the blue-painted medina when it's quieter.
- Day 3
Chefchaouen
You'll have a full day in the "Blue Pearl." Start with a sunrise hike to the Spanish Mosque (45 minutes up). A visitor tip: "The morning light hitting the blue buildings is incredible - bring a jacket as it's chilly before the sun hits." The afternoon is perfect for exploring the car-free medina's craft shops and cafes. Look into booking the guided Rif Valley hike if you want local insights.
- Days 4-5
Fès
It's a five-hour drive to Fès. Your first afternoon includes a visit to a traditional Berber pharmacy. Spend the next full day in the massive medina with a certified guide. The 9,000 narrow lanes make it easy to get lost. Visit the famous tanneries early to beat crowds and heat. One traveler notes: "The smell is intense - definitely accept the mint sprig they offer you at the entrance."
- Day 6
Fès to Marrakech
- Day 7
Marrakech
Make the most of your last morning in the "Red City." You can book a hot air balloon ride to see sunrise over the Atlas Mountains and palm groves (book a 2 PM or later flight if you do this). Or explore the souks early before it gets hot. A helpful tip from a visitor: "Bargaining is expected - start at 40% of the asking price and negotiate from there."
7 Days in Morocco, incl. Casablanca and Marrakech
7-day Morocco circuit covers 15 destinations including Hassan II Mosque, Chefchaouen's blue medina, UNESCO-listed Fes, and Sahara desert. Features luxury camp at Erg Chebbi, visits to Todra Gorges, and exploration of Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, averaging 6-7 hours drive daily.
- Day 1
Casablanca to Chefchaouen
Start your day at Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca at 8:30 AM before the crowds show up. Take a 4-hour drive to Rabat for lunch and visit the Udayas Kasbah and Hassan Tower. Then head to Chefchaouen another 3 hours away. "The drive through the Rif Mountains was stunning, but bring motion sickness pills if you're sensitive to winding roads."
- Day 2
Volubilis and Fes
- Day 3
Fes Medina
Spend the full day in Fes with a local guide. Begin at the Royal Palace gates and work your way into the medieval medina. Visit the tanneries first thing to avoid strong smells later in the day. Remember small bills for shopping and practice your bargaining skills. "The medina tours can feel rushed - ask your guide to slow down and take breaks at cafes."
- Day 4
Fes to Merzouga Desert
Get ready for a 7-hour drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known as Morocco's "Little Switzerland" and look for Barbary apes in the cedar forests. Travel through Ziz Valley to reach the desert dunes of Merzouga. "The luxury desert camp was worth the upgrade - having a private bathroom made a big difference in comfort."
- Day 5
Desert to Ouarzazate
Start with a sunrise camel trek in the Sahara. Pack warm clothes since desert mornings get cold. Take a 7-hour drive through Todra Gorge to Ouarzazate with a stop at Ait Benhaddou kasbah. "Ask your driver to stop at local women's cooperatives along the way - their argan oil prices are better than in Marrakech."
- Day 6
Marrakech Exploration
Take a morning tour of Marrakech: Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs and Majorelle Gardens. Spend your afternoon in the souks but write down your riad location to find your way back. End your day at Djemaa el-Fna square. "Visit the square around sunset when it comes alive with performers and food stalls."
- Day 7
Return to Casablanca
What people love about 7-day Morocco tours
- Morocco 7 Days Tour From Casablanca
Our 7 day tour of Morocco was one of the best guided-tours we have ever experienced. We felt very safe in the hands of our driver, Khalifa, who was very attentive to our needs and was also very helpful when one of us suddenly became unwell in the middle of our trip. Our guide in Fes was also excellent. All the riads we stayed in were excellent as well. All the staff in Hotel Molino Garden in Chefchaouen, Riad Jeanne in Fes, and Riad Dar Soukaina in Marrakech were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. I would like to say a special thank you though to our hosts in Riad Gabsi Du Dades (Hasan and his lovely wife) who went out of their way to attend to my sick friend. Our hosts in Merzouga were also very friendly and accommodating. This was also one of the highlights of our trip as were not only treated to dinner but also music and dancing during our overnight stay in the desert camp. Overall, this was one very memorable trip and I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Morocco for the first time.

Said was amazing, went the extra mile constantly, supported us the whole way and was very fair. Had a lot of fun with him as a CEO.
- 7 Days Morocco Tours From Casablanca
Usually when I travel I plan every step of the way myself but this time I decided to trust a tour company to do the job for me. Having very high expectations as I usually travel in 4-5star range they really matched what I would of planned and did an outstanding job. Our driver Aissa was very professional and super accommodating, he remembered every detail of things we liked just from conversation. We felt extremely safe and he was super knowledgeable and we learnt so much about the Moroccan culture, All the hotels were great that were included in the tour. We saw this beautiful country from one city to the next changing every time we opened our eyes, Morocco is so beautiful and each city has so much to offer. Our favourite was the Sahara desert - a MUST DO! It felt like we were on another planet, I would recommend anyone to trust this company and will sure be using them again for another trip.
