Northern Morocco Tours & Trips
If you thought Morocco was all about Marrakech, you’re wrong! Northern Morocco stretches from Chefchaouen's blue mountain streets through old medinas in Rif Mountain towns. Spring and fall work best for exploring the blue city and northern regions. From Mediterranean Tangier through the Rif to imperial cities, northern Morocco shows where North African and Mediterranean worlds meet throughout these mountain and coastal territories.

This tour was the way to see A LOT of Morocco in the allotted time. It was a great way to get a taste of a bunch of the big cities and some of the smaller ones too, so you can choose which city you can return to next time for a longer stay. Hotels were average- some could have been a little better- but overall I think the necessities of cleanliness, safety, and location were met. Transportation was good. We had some great drivers- especially for the longer hauls(adnan and yosef) who were really great! Guides-were good for the most part. Some went above and beyond and some just did the basic quick tour. Food/included breakfast- mostly at the hotels were pretty good. Most had the standard Moroccan items and some of the American/ European items as well. I actually really liked this tour, it was full of information and gave a good overview of Morocco. Everything went well, I do think they should add some free time to the tours before returning to the hotels or going back on the road- this would really make it great, otherwise I would definitely recommend this tour! Thanks & safe travels!

Great itinerary and courteous, safe driver. Hotels/riads were just OK. Tour advertises 4-star accommodations but we were booked at some 3-star accommodations. Would have liked the option of upgrading.

Best tour companies for Northern Morocco tours
I can tell you straight up that Morocco Magic Trip and Cultural Morocco Tours both come with their own pluses and considerations. Morocco Magic Trip has really nailed down their private tour operations - their 5-day route from Tangier to Casablanca gets consistently good feedback from TourRadar customers who appreciate how smoothly everything runs. The guides know their stuff and keep things organized without any major hiccups. Cultural Morocco Tours has some strong points too, especially when it comes to their guides. Abdul and Abdellatif get mentioned by name quite often in reviews, which says something about how engaging they are with travelers. That said, some folks have run into issues with their hotel bookings and getting from place to place. But here's what's interesting - even with those bumps, many travelers still say they had a great time because the company works hard to show you the real Morocco and adapts tours based on what people want to see and do. They'll adjust things like stopping at specific markets, visiting particular craftsmen and connecting with local families. When you stack them up, Morocco Magic Trip might be your pick if you want everything to run like clockwork, particularly on a private tour. Cultural Morocco Tours could work well if you're more interested in diving deep into local life and don't mind if things occasionally go a bit off-script.

You'll find some amazing ways to dive into authentic Moroccan life right from day one. The mint tea ceremony in Moulay Idriss is actually a perfect starting point it's not just about drinking tea but learning the whole ritual that's been passed down through generations. Over in Fes the Chouara Tannery's pretty intense with all those dye pits but wow what an experience seeing leather being worked just like it has been for centuries. The souks in Marrakech that's where you'll really get to test your bargaining skills trust me the vendors expect it and it's all part of the fun. Don't miss out on a traditional hammam it's this incredible steam bath ritual you'll find all over Northern Morocco and it'll leave you feeling amazing.
What Natural Wonders Can You Explore Beyond the Cities?
Northern Morocco's landscapes are just waiting to be discovered and honestly they're easier to reach than you might think. The Sahara well that's something else entirely head to Merzouga and you can jump on a camel trek sleep under the stars it's pretty magical.
Which Hidden Routes Should You Consider?
Let me tell you about some amazing alternatives to the usual tourist trails. The Road of 1000 Kasbahs isn't just a clever name it's this incredible route connecting Todra Gorge to Skoura and Ait Benhaddou lined with these ancient fortress buildings. Tizi n'Tichka Pass is Morocco's highest mountain road and the views are just incredible as you wind your way from Marrakech toward the Sahara. The Dades Gorge route that's where you'll see some really unique rock formations and get to experience real Berber village life.
