Cultural Morocco Tour Reviews
- 9-day cultural Morocco tour from Casablanca ( Private tour )
Could not imagine a better tour guide as Amanar I can only say that experiencing Morocco was way better then i could ever dream of. Not just as it is an incredible country, but also as we had the best team and were in the best hands of Amanar, who made our trip even more unforgettable! Thank you for everything Amanar, and always helping in all situations!! My luggage got lost on the way, and he organized a person to go pick it up for me and bring it all the way down south of of the country! Really appreciate that and all the effort you did for us and made us feel warm and welcomed, as well as taught us many new things about Morocco and the culture! Thank you again, and wish we could go back already!! Def a best way to experience Morocco and highly recommend using the service to all of you!! Organizing everything from the beginning to the end!!
- Casablanca to Marrakech: Culture, Color & Traditions
There is so much to see, do and experience in this wonderful part of the world and I couldn’t have imagined a better person to show it all to us than Abdeljalil of Premium Morocco Tours. He took us to everywhere we needed to see but also to places off the normal tourist route too. He was informative whilst not constantly droning on and he talked about deep traditions and cultures, not just the obvious. He was attentive whilst leaving us enough space to do our own thing, yet he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time and there when we needed him. He assured that our accommodation was clean and comfortable, that our food was traditional but ‘safe’ and that our transport was comfortable and safely driven. He was fantastic with the kids too! VERY highly recommended!!
- 11 Days Must-See Morocco Cultural Tour From Casablanca
We had so much fun and saw so much on this tour! Our guides were amazing and we were able to have incredible and authentic experiences while interacting with locals. The food was amazing and so filling and healthy. We loved wandering the medinas and finding hidden gems like little shops and cozy restaurants recommended by MSI, our guides and people we met on the street. There is something for everyone in Morocco and the people are lovely and warm. The only downfall was I wish I had more time to see more!
What our customers ask about Cultural Tours & Holidays in Morocco
What are the must-see cultural highlights on a Morocco tour?
Morocco's cultural landscape centers on several key locations that define the country's heritage. The UNESCO-listed medina of Fes houses the ancient Al-Karaouine University while Marrakech's Djemaa el-Fna square pulses with daily life. The distinct blue streets of Chefchaouen and the well-preserved Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou offer unique perspectives on Moroccan architecture. Visitors often stay in traditional riads such as Riad Palais Des Princesses in Marrakech. As one TourRadar traveler shared: "Each city each souk the madeiras the palaces of the Red City and Fes - The sights speak for themselves and you should really do yourself a favor and experience them yourselves."
When is the best time to go on a cultural tour in Morocco?
Spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) offer the most comfortable conditions for exploring Morocco's cultural sites. During these months temperatures allow for easy walks through cities like Fes and Marrakech. As one TourRadar traveler notes: "The weather was perfect for exploring the medinas and cultural sites." Summer brings intense heat to inland areas while winter varies from mild in Marrakech to cold in mountain towns like Chefchaouen where visitors stay at places like Dar Echchaouen in the Rif Mountains.
What type of accommodations can I expect on a cultural tour of Morocco?
Morocco's accommodations range from traditional riads to desert camps and boutique hotels. The Riad Ahlam in Fes showcases classic Moroccan architecture while the Itran Royal Camp in Merzouga lets guests experience luxury desert living. A TourRadar reviewer noted: "The accommodations were carefully selected for their cultural authenticity - from the historic riad in Fes to the traditional Berber camp in the Sahara."
What's included in meals on Morocco Cultural tours?
Most tours provide daily breakfasts at accommodations and select dinners especially in remote areas like the Sahara Desert and traditional riads. Special meals featuring regional dishes are common in places like Merzouga and Dades Gorges. Morocco Social Impact Travels for example includes "traditional dishes prepared with love by local families." Tours accommodate various dietary needs including vegetarian vegan halal and kosher options. As shared by one TourRadar traveler: "The food was incredible and it was a great experience to meet locals through home-cooked meals."
What kind of local cultural experiences are included?
Cultural programs typically feature hands-on activities such as cooking classes visits to artisan workshops bread-making demonstrations in Berber villages and desert music performances. A Cultural Morocco Tours guest shared: "The highlight was dining with a local family in their riad in Fes learning to make traditional couscous while discussing Moroccan customs and traditions."
What should I pack for a cultural tour in Morocco?
Essential items include modest loose-fitting clothes that cover shoulders and knees particularly for visits to religious sites. Comfortable walking shoes are necessary for medina exploration and women should pack head scarves. Weather-appropriate layers help with desert nights and mountain areas like Chefchaouen. When staying at locations such as Marina Bay Hotel in Tangier or Riad Kalaa in Rabat both casual and smart-casual clothing proves useful.
