What people love about Peru Tours in March
- Machu Picchu Adventure
Machu Picchu Adventure was everything I was expecting. Hotel Transfers on time, Hotels were great location, clean and staff very friendly. The small quaint towns of Cusco, Ollantaytambo and Aguas Callientes (Machu Picchu) offered lots of history and fascinating shops. Plenty of Restaurants to taste the local cuisine. As a mature traveler I found the pace of this tour great. Our guide David was very knowledgeable and helpful. Sacred Valley was interesting but of Machu Picchu was the highlight.
- The Inca Journey
Wonderful overall, but there were some difficulties such as extra events (One Day Hike Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain Hike) being cancelled. There were strikes and protests that caused changes to schedule, so I was pleased how tour changes were skillfully managed. I'm waiting to hear about refund which is my only concern. I enjoyed people and G Adventures Tour Leaders very much.
- 7 Day Andean Experience Through the Living Culture of the Incas
This was an exceptional tour and I would recommend it a thousand times over to anyone. The accomidations and food was amazing. I literally cried while leaving one of the tour's accomidations because the family that owned it was so lovely to us. Percy was extremely in-depth and told us anecdotal personal stories that informed our tour and made it that much more memorable. He knew the answer to every question and inspired our curiosity. Tours are full of activities and Percy encouraged us between events and destinations -- our motivation the whole way through. I would not want to see Peru any other way. Truly an incredible experience that five stars does not do justice to.
What our customers ask about Peru Tours in March 2026
What is the weather like in Peru during March?
Peru's weather varies significantly by region during March as the rainy season winds down. Cusco and the Sacred Valley fluctuate between 50-70°F with intermittent rain while Lima's coastal areas stay warm at 75-85°F. A TourRadar traveler noted: "We came in rainy season and made good use of our ponchos and rain gear." The Amazon maintains its characteristic humidity with regular afternoon showers particularly in areas like Tambopata National Reserve.
What are the accommodation options in Peru during March?
From luxury hotels to boutique properties Peru's accommodations suit various preferences and budgets. Cusco features the colonial-style Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel and modern Hilton Garden Inn. The Sacred Valley hosts Casa Andina Private Valle Sagrado while Aguas Calientes offers the convenient El Mapi by Inkaterra near Machu Picchu. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The hotels were very comfortable and well-located especially in Cusco where we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn."
Are there any special festivals or events in Peru during March?
March brings notable cultural celebrations across Peru with the Fiesta de la Vendimia (Wine Harvest Festival) taking center stage in the Ica region near Huacachina oasis. Traditional music and dance performances fill the Sacred Valley with local festivities. How do I handle altitude adjustment in Peru during March?
While March's moderate temperatures help with acclimatization proper altitude adjustment remains essential. Begin your journey in the Sacred Valley at 9514 feet before ascending to Cusco at 11152 feet. Properties like Tierra Viva Cusco provide coca tea and oxygen support when needed. The wet season in March creates prime conditions for river exploration and wildlife observation in locations such as Tambopata National Reserve. March visitors to Machu Picchu benefit from smaller crowds and verdant landscapes despite occasional rain. The Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel serves as an excellent base during this period.
