- RBRichard· June 9th, 2025“Extraordinary Peru’ by Lima Tours is an outstanding tour to Machu Picchu, Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Lima. The tour people met me at every location with a name-sign including the airports, hotel doors, train station, restaurants, etc. They were very competent and very nice people. And virtually all tour aspects were private and unexpectedly delightful – I was the only one with the guide most of the time. Machu Picchu is truly amazing—a world wonder. Other sites and walking tours were interesting. The only reason I didn’t give this tour five stars is that it’s exhausting with very early wake-ups and being constantly on the move – day after day after day. And Machu Picchu and other ancient Inca towns had sizable walking and climbing over steep rounded, hand-laid stones and walkways, often without handrails. This was unexpected because the tour description said “Good for up to 99 year olds” !!! But I salute Lima Tours for an exceptional performance.Show more

Asked on August 26th, 2025I am 73 years old and have mild asthma. How safe will it be for me to travel high altitude like Cusco. Tour code 106546, extraordinary Peru, is it relaxing or long walk or trekking involved. It is also partly guided tours. Which part of the trip we will be without guides.

We always recommend speaking with your doctor prior to traveling to high-altitude destinations. This program is designed to be enriching yet comfortable. It includes cultural visits and guided tours with some light walking. There is no trekking or strenuous hiking involved. Most of the activities are relaxed and done at a gentle pace, suitable for travelers of different ages and physical conditions. The tour is partially guided, meaning: You will be accompanied as a part of a group by a local guide during all key excursions (such as Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, and city tours in Lima and Cusco). We are happy to adjust certain parts of the itinerary to accommodate your needs, should you require more rest or a slower pace.
