Bali Tours & Trips
You won’t believe your eyes when you witness Bali’s natural beauty. Volcanic rocks, lush forests, rice fields, white sand beaches, it’s all there. Snorkel with turtles in the Gili Islands, or try a Kecak fire dance class at sunset. Why not rent a scooter and ride along the coast, or head to Ubud and visit a monkey sanctuary? If adrenaline is your thing, try a jungle swing. Bali is beautiful.

James and Liam were awesome. I felt like I was traveling with friends rather than people who were just hired to do their job. You can tell they enjoy what they do, they're knowledgable with the culture and basic language, and they're super fun!!

We had a fully guided tour through Bali. It started in the south, and the hotel in Kuta at the sandy beach was just beautiful. Our guide, I Wayan, was incredibly knowledgeable, and our driver was by far the most patient and relaxed person we have ever met. And he had to be, given the challenging traffic :-). Our stop at the Uluwatu Temple was very impressive. The site is great, on top of the steep coastline, with many free moving monkeys. Next, Melasti Beach a beautiful white sand beach and a very relaxed atmosphere. The final dinner at the beach was just a dream, with the sun going down just in front of us. The next day, we went to the gigantic Garuda statue. The whole site is great, with bizarre, rock architecture, and various other statues as well. Close by, quite some ritual dancing, and we were particularly impressed by the Barong, the incarnation of evil, and typically presented by two dancers. Really cool and very funny indeed. We then went on a cruise with dinner, and a whole Balinese sailing crew. Just great, so much fun! The next day, we went to a traditional wood-carving traditional shop, with many interesting products, followed by a temple, where we could offer sacrifices, and lunch with one of the greatest news: a very high spot that provides a beautiful side of a volcano that has just left its marks. Next, we visited a coffee farm, where they produce the legendary Kopi Luwak. Various types of coffee and tea were presented for tasting, by a very knowledgeable, local guy, very impressive indeed. Absolutely no pressure to buy anything. Finally, we arrived at the absolutely most spectacular and most beautiful hotel we have ever seen: overlooking a sheer jungle. A dream! Next day was devoted to visiting the rice terrace, unbelievably beautiful. Next, a park with a Luwak, the one producing the coffee! Sundown at the seaside, close to a monastery. Again, a spectacular view, extremely romantic indeed. Next, a temple with a museum, showing some historical highlights from the time where Indonesia was a Dutch colony. A beautiful, very old, historical temple close by. Then visit to a particularly large and high monastery, again with a very knowledgeable local guide. Followed by lunch in the wilderness and a beautiful view at rice terraces. Remarkable. Then we went to feed the fishes in another temple, and then visited a self-maintaining village and met the mayor of it, who explained how the village people make their living and live their lives, super interesting. We also went to a side, where honey is produced by particularly interesting bees, which happen to not sting people, but to produce a very dark and sour honey. So cool! then we went to another temple, which has the peculiarity of having bats to swirl around during the procedure. And this at night, this is just spectacular, such a great sight. The last day was for relaxation in the jungle-hotel and a Balinese massage. Taken altogether, this was a very unexpected, endlessly rich and impressive, and especially hyper-romantic vacation. Our guide was simply wonderful, a very open, knowledgeable expert, who was extremely sensitive to our needs and wishes. It just can’t get any better! Everyone should do that once in her life.

Where to start your Bali trip
Denpasar kicks off 31 of our Bali tours, making it the main starting point for most travelers. The capital city launches another 23 trips, while Ubud - with its artistic soul - starts 12 different journeys. Canggu's relaxed surf culture provides the backdrop for 10 tour starts and Kuta rounds things off with 5 departures. We've noticed booking about three months out (88.5 days to be exact) gives you the best pick of tours and dates. Our seasoned travelers suggest splitting your stay between different areas - maybe mix Ubud's cultural scene with the coastal views of Uluwatu or even Nusa Penida. Our local guides love sharing lesser-known spots while supporting responsible tourism that protects both nature and local traditions. From riding rapids on rafts, exploring by ATV and visiting temples, our multilingual guides adapt each experience to match what interests you most.

Winter in Bali offers excellent opportunities for cultural activities and water sports. The 12-day tours give you time to watch dolphins near Lovina and also swim with turtles around the Gili Islands. Many travelers pick our 7-day Ubud-focused trips to learn cooking in local family homes and explore the Monkey Forest during quieter hours. The active tours blend surf sessions in Canggu with early morning hikes up Mount Batur - our guests particularly enjoy this combination. The 3-day Nusa Penida trips let you beat the crowds to Crystal Bay's snorkeling spots and Diamond Beach. For those wanting more variety, our multi-island tours connect Bali's temple culture with Lombok's local communities and pristine beaches.

Looking at these top-rated Bali tour operators, each company stands out for different reasons. Intro Travel gets consistently good feedback for their luxury touches and detailed planning, with guides Alex and Alan being particular favorites among our travelers for really knowing their stuff. Wanderlands has built quite a following thanks to their guides James, Liam, Charlie and Ryan who keep things both fun and safe. They've got a knack for creating this warm, welcoming vibe that makes everyone feel right at home. If you're after authentic Balinese experiences, TruTravels delivers with their local cooking classes, trips to the Monkey Forest and snorkeling adventures in Gili T. Their guides Justin, Levi and also Yosia get a lot of praise from travelers for always being there when needed and paying attention to all the little details. The Bali Trip Mate rounds things out nicely with well-thought-out itineraries. What natural areas can I explore outside the cities and how do I get there?
Once you get away from the busy cities Bali's got some incredible natural spots to discover. West Bali National Park is this amazing place with everything from rainforests to coral reefs you can get there by private car or join a tour. There's great hiking trails dive sites and mangrove forests to explore plus boat trips out to Menjangan Island where the underwater scenery is just stunning. One Life Adventures runs these really cool tours to less-visited spots like Pemuteran where you can go snorkeling around Menjangan Island's reefs and spot turtles and colorful fish. Their Bali Classic 12 Day tour includes a full day at Menjangan Island for snorkeling and checking out this cool Biorock Project.
How do people usually get around Bali and what's the transport schedule like?
Getting around Bali's pretty flexible depending on what you're after and your budget. Private drivers are great for day trips and hitting multiple spots they'll take you door to door. Lots of people rent scooters for independent exploring just make sure you've got an international driving permit and watch out for the traffic it can get pretty crazy. In urban areas ride-hailing apps like Grab and Gojek are super convenient and affordable just download the app and you're good to go. Fast ferries run regularly throughout the day between Bali and places like Nusa Penida and the Gili Islands. The Intro Travel 12 Day experience uses these fast ferries to get between Bali and Gili Trawangan it's quick and easy.
Which places in Bali are still pretty quiet but really worth visiting?
There's some amazing spots in Bali that don't get the crowds but are absolutely worth your time. Pemuteran up in North Bali has these beautiful pristine reefs and it's your gateway to Menjangan Island which has some of the best diving and snorkeling you'll find. The Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are actually UNESCO listed they're these stunning emerald-green paddies that get way fewer visitors than the famous Tegalalang ones. Ulun Danu Bratan Temple sits right on Lake Bratan it's this peaceful water temple that feels worlds away from the busy tourist areas. One Life Adventures includes Pemuteran and Menjangan Island in their 12 Day tour showing you these quieter spots with incredible natural beauty.
