- RQRebecca· May 23rd, 2025This tour was a great way to explore Peru in 7 days. Waman Adventures made the trip run smooth. From airport pick up upon my arrival in Lima, Peru at around midnight to the daily tours and activities, to train and plane tickets, Waman, especially Luz, arranged everything for me. All the tour guides were very knowledgeable and helped me maximize my time in Peru. All the hotels were clean and spacious. The hotel in Cusco was not very central but the staff at Ayni Hotel were amazing and very helpful. There were no unexpected expenses. Waman Adventures communicated everything in advance with me so I know what to expect everyday. This company is highly recommended.Show moreWaman Adventures commented on this reviewDear Rebecca Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful experience. - JRjohn· May 21st, 2025This tour covered just what our small group of 6 (3 couples) were looking for in *eru. A couple of days in and around Lima and then 4/5 days at altitude in Cusco and Machju Picchu. The tour was well organized and took us to the highlights as well as off-the-beaten path experiences. We enjoyed the fact that other than breakfast we had the opportunity to explore the cuisine which was always wonderful. The hotels that were included were very good for the price and value - always clean, comfortable and in "safe" surroundings. - NANasser· May 12th, 2025Wanted to start thanking a few people who helped this trip to become one of our best trips. Yeni and Darwin from Waman were great. Yeni accompanied us for Machu Pichu , CHINCHERO, MARAS & MORAY portion of the trip. She was knowledgeable and assisted us in some situations that was out of her responsibilities. Darwin kept us up to date everyday and he also, helped us from the beginning in arranging this trip. We take at least two to three international trips per year. For our age this trip was the most challenging and also jam packed with exciting places and activities. Even though we had to get up some days early morning (which we were previously informed through itinerary) we were excited to get to that day’s activities. All the drivers tour guides and pick up personnel were polite and on time. - KSKumar· April 23rd, 2025I don't know who these people are giving this a 5-star rating; it was one of the most difficult trips we have done in our lives, and honestly, we are scared of using Tourradar after this. Waman is the tour company that says it organizes the tour, but we realize they just use a lot of small companies to complete everyday tours, and timings are awful. Peru is a beautiful country, but this tour was a nightmare. We did our tour starting from April 13th to 20th, 2025. My wife and I have been traveling together for the last 8 years and had done individual travels before that, and we both never had an awful experience in our lives. We do four trips every year, and for so many years, this was the most nightmarish trip of all time. 1. Day one: it says in the details to arrive in the morning or before noon on day one, which we did at 10:30 in the morning, and once we reached the hotel, you cannot check in till 3 PM, but the first day trip starts at 2:30 PM. The hotel staff felt bad for us, and they luckily gave us a room at 2 PM, so we got time to freshen up, as we came from Canada on an overnight flight for a total of 10 hours. The tour started at 2:30 and was done in 3 hours, taking us to various places in Lima where we barely stopped. 2. Day Two: We were asked to be ready at 4 AM, where we covered Paracas and Ica, did a boat ride and sand dune excursion, and had a fun day. While coming back from Ica to Lima at 10:30 PM, we got into a massive bus accident, which I am very sure the bus driver was not paying attention to. My wife and I had to be taken to the hospital, and I still have a concussion from that, and they kept us in the hospital overnight to monitor us. 3. Day Three: We were released from the hospital, and the doctor told us to be conscious that you guys still have concussions. We reached the hotel just after 12 and realized the hotel was not accessible and had to tell the staff what happened to us, and they gave us an hour to get ready and leave as soon as possible. The same day, Waman arranged for us to travel to Cusco, which is at a high altitude, and the doctor asked us to stay conscious as much as possible. We made it to our flight at 3:45 PM. We were up since 3 AM last night and continued after the accident. We reached Cusco at night and were transferred to the hotel from the airport by one of the Waman representatives. We met Ronald, who was our guide for the next two days, and he was asked to be ready by 7 AM to start the next day's tour. 4. Day Four: We saw a lot of places and also carried some of our luggage with us and left the rest of it in the hotel we are staying in, in their storage, as on Days 5 and 6 we will come back and stay in the same hotel. We completed the whole day tour and later in the afternoon took a train ride to Machu Picchu at the end of today's trip, and Ronald is going to accompany us to Machu Picchu, and after reaching the station, we learned it was just us on the train and Ronald was coming separately. The train ride was beautiful, and when we reached Machu Picchu, the hotel we were supposed to stay at for day 4 had no staff there, and after waiting for a while, both of us, with another two passengers, Googled the hotel and reached there on foot, and then we got a call from Ronald and the hotel staff saying, Oh, the staff was there but could not find you. After reaching there, Ronald messaged us and asked us to be ready to meet him at the lobby at 5:30 AM tomorrow with our luggage. 5. Day Five: Met Ronald at the lobby of the hotel at 5:30 AM, kept our luggage at the hotel storage, and started our Machu Picchu journey. It's beautiful out there, but we were struggling, mainly my wife, as she had a worse concussion than me, but we completed the Machu Picchu trip and were back in the Machu Picchu city before noon and were given time to spend there till 2, as our train back to halfway Cusco was at 3:36 PM. We reached the halfway point after 2 hours, and then there was a bus waiting for us, which dropped us at the hotel around 9:30 PM, and while we were on the way to the hotel, we got a message from Leonerd, who is a tour manager, to be ready at 3:30 AM for the Rainbow Mountain tour the next day. At that point we decided we could not do this anymore, as we were already heard, and we wouldn't even get a decent sleep. Rather than arranging a refund or something else for us, Leonerd started telling me in the message that it’s so sad everything was arranged and to think about it. I have to remind him we went through a massive accident, and then he said, I understand, and I will tell the group to not pick you up tomorrow morning. 6. Day Six: We didn’t go on the tour and stayed in the hotel and went out by ourselves to see the city of Cusco and have a quiet day, as we were exhausted and were tired of the lack of empathy from the Waman tour people and wanted this trip to be over. At night, Leonerd messaged us our boarding pass and said there will be a person who will transfer us at 2:14 PM tomorrow to the airport. 7. Day Seven: Our airport transfer arrived 40 minutes late, and after calling Leonerd multiple times, he responded and said he would send another person. So, this was our trip I don’t know if they are paying people to give 5-star ratings or what; this was not a vacation we were looking forward to visiting Peru. Tourradar should look into this, as I do not know how the rating is so high.Show moreWaman Adventures commented on this reviewDear Kumar, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Asked on April 14th, 2025I am a 63 year old woman and want to know if I have alternative options if I wanted to avoid hiking on rainbow mountain. Is there any transport option to go to the top?
- Waman AdventuresOperator•Written April 2025
During this excursion, you will have the option to rent a horse, which can take you up to the base of the mountain, covering approximately 80% of the total walking distance. This service is arranged directly with the local muleteers at Rainbow Mountain and typically costs around 90 to 120 Peruvian soles. Please note that the final section of the trail, which involves stairs, must be done on foot. Alternatively, we can replace the activity with a scenic ATV tour to the Morada de los Dioses, including a panoramic view of the Piuray Lagoon.

Traveler•Written April 2025As I'm travelling solo, will I always be with the same group. Also in September, in your experience, how many people are there per group?
- Waman AdventuresOperator•Written April 2025
As of now, we don't have any travelers registered for the September 6th departure. However, some upcoming dates with confirmed participants are: August 31st - a couple is signed up, September 1st - 4 travelers confirmed, September 13th - 5 travelers confirmed. We offer daily guaranteed departures, so you can choose the date that suits you best.
- T
Tania
Traveler•Written April 2025So if no one else has signed up on the dates I'm interested in, will Waman be using other operators to fit the solo traveller into the itinerary?
- Waman AdventuresOperator•Written April 2025
Even if no one else signs up for the date you choose, our guides will still accompany you throughout the experience. The trip will definitely go ahead, even if you are the only traveler. We're committed to providing personalized service, whether for solo travelers or groups.
- Waman AdventuresOperator•Written April 2025
The maximum group capacity for the tour is up to 30 travelers, as for two activities, the boat tour in Paracas and the Route of the Sun, up to that number of participants typically sign up.

Asked on March 25th, 2025Are tickets available to hike Machu Picchu? What are hotel upgrade options and cost? Would it be feasible for me to make a 20:00 return flight out of Lima?
- Waman AdventuresOperator•Written March 2025
Yes! There are tickets available for your visit to the Machu Picchu citadel. If you're interested in adding Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu Mountain, both are also available. Hotel upgrade options include Radisson Decapolis or Dazzler by Wyndham in Lima, Sonesta Cusco, Novotel in Cusco, and Mapi by Inkaterra or Jaya Machu Picchu in Aguas Calientes. All these hotels are 4-star category.
- K
Ken
Traveler•Written March 2025To add Machu Picchu Mountain, do I proceed with booking the trip and then notify you to add the mountain ticket? Same process for hotel upgrades (would like to first confirm pricing for the 4-star upgrade)?
- Waman AdventuresOperator•Written March 2025
You need to choose between Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu. Huayna Picchu is a steeper climb with narrow trails, requiring good physical condition, with total hiking time of 2.5 to 3 hours. Machu Picchu Mountain is a less steep and wider trail, ideal for moderate challenge, with total hiking time of 3.5 to 4 hours. Payment for extras must be made in cash directly to your guide in Cusco.

Asked on March 7th, 2025Is it possible to move my trip to another date in case I can't make it on the days I booked? Is there a fee for that?
- Waman AdventuresOperator•Written March 2025
If you wish to modify your travel dates for personal reasons, we can offer you the minimum penalty. This penalty will specifically apply to the Machu Picchu tickets, as they are nominative and non-transferable. This means that once the tickets are issued, they are linked to your name and cannot be changed, transferred to another person, or modified in terms of dates. Additionally, train tickets issued by PeruRail also have their own penalties for changes or cancellations. Any date change will involve penalties for the Machu Picchu tickets, train tickets, and local flights based on the respective companies' policies.

Traveler•Written March 2025The tour group size says 2 - 20 people. I am travellimg solo. What happens if nobody else joins the tour on the days I booked? Will it be canceled?
- Waman AdventuresOperator•Written March 2025
Our departures are 100% guaranteed, allowing you to choose the date that best fits your itinerary with complete peace of mind, without worrying about cancellations due to group size. We currently have availability on several dates with confirmed participants.

- Waman AdventuresOperator•Written January 2025
Thank you for your message, about your questions:
Q1.- Visit to the Sacred Valley, Yes, in this itinerary on day 4 we visit part of the Sacred Valley (Chinchero, Maras, and Moray).
Q2.- This is the list of important things that you will bring to your trip:
✔A backpack or a small suitcase: This will help you to carry your things such as a change of clothes the day you visit Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu).
✔Original Passport (Very important )
NOTE: Valid Passport: Please check the expiration date of your passport, as it is required to be valid for more than six months from the date of travel.
✔Waterproof jacket/rain poncho
✔Warm jacket
✔Gloves
✔T-shirts (quick dry)
✔Comfortable Pants
✔Comfortable shoes with a firm sole for your walking tour (Rainbow Mountain)
✔Sun hat
✔Sunscreen (SPF 35+)
✔Insect repellent (We strongly suggest NATURAL repellent) since in Aguas Calientes (the closest town to Machu Picchu) there is the presence of some mosquitoes that are not dangerous but can be annoying, The small presentation will serve you.
✔Toiletries and hand sanitizer
✔Personal medication
✔Camera and film
✔Money in Peruvian currency (We recommend you to have some cash in Peruvian currency for your trip, you can exchange US dollars for Peruvian soles at airports, exchange houses, tourist areas, hotels and banks.
We recommend this as in some areas of Peru it may be difficult to locate establishments that accept credit or debit cards.

Asked on November 14th, 2024Will it be the same price if I need the flight ticket to Iquitos the last day? What do you recommend the tourists to bring with them for this 7 days trip? (Like hat, raincoat, sunblock, ....etc. if it's important.)
- Waman AdventuresOperator•Written November 2024
About the change of route in the departure flight is not possible because to get to Iquitos you would have to take a flight from Cusco to Lima included in the price and the flight from Lima to Iquitos that should be arranged on your own or we can help you for an extra charge. Things to bring include: Original Identity Card and/or passport, ISIC card (if student), Extra money, Long-lasting insect repellent, Sunscreen (SPF 35+), Personal care items, Personal medication. Clothing: Hiking footwear, Waterproof jacket, Rain poncho (rainy season), Sun hat or cap, Sunglasses, Thermal clothing. Equipment: Camera, Extra batteries.
