What people love about Egypt Tours in September
- Egypt Treasures (Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Felucca sailing ,black &white desert safari) with Domestic flight
The trip was way more than I ever expected. Thanks for all tour guides in cairo,Aswan and desert ( Dr Nasar & ayman & walled) they did their best to make sure we all enjoyed it and got the best we could possibly get out of it.they were very knowledgeable of their county and showed us the best places of Egypt and had an awesome time with us. i made almost all the optional activities during this tour but I enjoyed much Abu simbel and the hot air balloon. thanks guys for everything it was all worth the money.
- Grand Egyptian GEMs: Hidden Pyramids and the Nile - Return Flight Included - 9 Days
Overall Experience Excellent: BUT include NMEC in Itinerary. If you want to see the history of ancient Egypt and enjoy the Nile this is an excellent tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and having someone on hand to organise logistics daily invaluable. We enjoyed the boat experience and fantastic way to see the river and its importance to Egypt. The boats were a bit tired but rooms very comfortable, food was all buffet but absolutely fine and the top deck was a lovely place to relax in between trips. As can be expected there are things that could be improved , certain tour facts not explained beforehand and some tips on Egypt: - the boats on the Nile all seem to go in convoy, this means they arrive at the same time, dock next to each other and all tourists end up at the same place at the same time! I could not get an explanation for this fact. -the tipping process is misleading and can be intrusive. Our tour guide on arrival in our Cairo hotel asked us for $55 per person towards tips for staff on our tour excluding our main guide we would pick up in Luxor. During the nine days many people asked for tips supposedly covered by our initial payment and during the tour you visit many ‘recommended’ tourist shops( alibaster, perfume, artefacts, papyrus etc) where it’s clear the guide benefits financially. The guide at Cairo airport from Beyond the Nile was late and rude and was not representative of other staff. -there are many side tours/trips you can also elect to take. We enjoyed ours( horse and carriage around Luxor at night, visit Nubian village) but I thought they were expensive given the costs of things on the ground when you are there. -we were a group of fourteen when the maximum size was supposed to be ten people. It didn’t make any difference and we thoroughly enjoyed our other travelling companions but it was misleading by the tour company. -if you are expecting seem less communication with the outside world plan ahead. The Wi-Fi just does not work, in hotels, on the boat and anywhere else. Most of our group ended up buying a Egyptian SIM card. Money changers are few and far between and ATM’s friendly to foreign cards also. You should do SIM and cash/ATM at the airport on arrival. - lastly, but most IMPORTANT. On day one you visit the Egyptian Museum which is a bit long, very hot and most interesting part saved for the last ten minutes (Tutankhamen treasures). There is another museum in Cairo called the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation(NMEC) which was built in 2017 and is amazing. They have two floors; the lower one dedicated to the Mummies of the ancient Kings & Queen which is amazing and the ground floor covers all Egyptian History periods: Old,Middle, New Kingdoms, Ptolematic and Roman eras and the Muslim Caliphate changes. We saw this on our last day ONLY because we asked to see it. We SHOULD have seen this on day ONE as it would have given us a fantastic foundation of knowledge for what we would be seeing over the next eight days. The Tour company couldn’t explain why it was not on the itinerary but make sure you see beforehand.

Peter was great, he was funny and made us feel safe. Would definitely recommend him to another group and would love to have him for the second time
What our customers ask about Egypt Tours in September 2025
What is the weather like in Egypt during September?
September brings a welcome respite from Egypt's intense summer heat with daytime temperatures in Cairo reaching 32°C (90°F). The cooler mornings create good conditions for exploring major archaeological sites like the Pyramids and Valley of the Kings. Most visitors find the climate manageable for outdoor activities though afternoons can still be warm. Hotels such as the Steigenberger El Tahrir provide air-conditioned comfort for midday breaks from sightseeing.
What are the best activities to do in Egypt during September?
The moderate September weather opens up possibilities for both cultural exploration and outdoor adventures. Most visitors start their days with early temple visits followed by Nile cruises between Luxor and Aswan or traditional felucca boat rides at sunset. The Le Fayan 2 cruise ship's observation decks offer prime spots for evening Nile views. Hot air balloon rides over Luxor's ancient monuments take advantage of the clear September skies and cooler morning temperatures.
Are there any special events or festivals in Egypt during September?
The Abu Simbel Sun Festival stands out as September's signature event occurring around the 22nd when sunlight streams into Ramses II's temple sanctuary. Many Nile cruise vessels organize Egyptian cultural nights complete with local music performances and traditional dancing. These evening celebrations often blend contemporary music from the 60s and 70s with Arabian melodies creating a festive atmosphere on board.
What are the accommodation options like in Egypt during September?
September visitors find hotels and cruise ships operating at full capacity with all services available. The Steigenberger El Tahrir in Cairo represents the standard for urban accommodations while 5-star Nile cruise vessels provide floating luxury. Air conditioning comes standard across most properties making afternoon rest periods comfortable even during warmer days.
How much should I budget for a September trip to Egypt?
Tour packages in September cost between USD 520 and USD 2500. Additional expenses include site entrance fees (USD 100-135) daily tips (USD 8) and optional excursions like the Abu Simbel tour at USD 125. Popular add-ons such as hot air balloon rides over Luxor typically cost around USD 100. These supplementary activities take advantage of September's milder weather conditions.
What is the average cost for accommodations in Egypt during September?
Five-star properties like Cairo's Marriott Mena House charge between 150-200 USD nightly while 4-star options such as the Steigenberger Hotel Luxor range from 100-150 USD. Nile cruise cabins start at 150 USD per night reaching 300 USD for premium accommodations. These rates reflect standard September pricing across Egypt's main tourist destinations.
