- HDheliodoro· May 22nd, 2025NIce people, but the service was inferior to what was advertised and what we paid for. Our group was left on the airport transfer with little help and instruction. The so called "Egyptologist" needs to do more walking than talking. We were at the pyramids for a brief time, instead of walking around and experiencing the site. He talked lengthily about the time the pyramids took to build, way to long. Then it was time to go.Show moreAB Voyages Egypt commented on this reviewWe sincerely apologize for the unusual experience you encountered with the airport transfer & one of our tour guides service , especially considering that this guide is known to be one of our best. - KDKimberly· May 22nd, 2025We were one of 5 couples on the tour. All accommodation was excellent. The cruise section was fabulous. Great food, great staff. Some lunches in local restaurants were a bit formulaic, grilled chicken or meat. Drinks were extra. Tips to all but the tour guides were paid up front when we boarded the cruise. We also paid at that time all entries by credit card, so cash was not used everywhere. Hawkers were overly aggressive but did respond to Egyptian no. Our tour guides were fantastic, super knowledgeable. We debated how much to tip, eventually going off TripAdvisor for guidance, 3 to 5 USD per person per day.Show moreAB Voyages Egypt commented on this reviewOur dear guest thank you so much for your kind words. Too bad about the 'Old Cataract', but the reversal of the route meant we couldn't enjoy it. The substitute hotel is sincerely not up to standard (I complain). Bravo for the choice of cruise ship! - Verena· April 1st, 2025It was a wonderful experience! I thoroughly enjoyed visiting all the pyramids, temples and tombs with our very knowledgeable (Egyptologists) and warm and friendly guides. I’ve learned so much in these 10 days! They don‘t just rattle down facts, but weave them into interesting stories about the gods and kings, explain the different hieroglyphs, etc. It never got boring. I loved that the visits didn‘t feel too rushed and that we always had time after the guided tour to explore the sights on our own. I took so many photos ? The organisation was flawless, the drivers were on time and the cars/vans were comfortable and air-conditioned. My Top 5 highlights were the GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum), the Medinet Habu Temple (beautiful colors), staying at the Winter Palace in Luxor (feeling like Agatha Christie!), the Nile cruise and Kings Valley. Of course there were so many more ? I would advise not to book all the extras in advance, so that you can have more time to relax. There is quite a lot to see and I did underestimate the hot temperatures and how tired I would get in the afternoon/evening. I highly recommand the Saqqara Day Trip (great first day of the tour and very interesting prelude to seeing the Pyramids of Giza), the sunrise hot air balloon (touristy but still magical!) and the Nubian village tour. The other extras are not a must see. Instand treat yourself to a relaxing egyptian massage in your Aswan hotel (Mövenpick) or a relaxing swim in the hotel pool (Winter Palace in Luxor). If you have time, add a few days in Cairo at the end of your tour to explore the other museums of Cairo on your own. The new GEM is part of the tour, but I would also recommend visiting the (classic and wonderfully chaotic) Egyptian Museum at Tahir Square and the NMEC to see the royal mummies. They are easily reachable via Uber.Show moreAB Voyages Egypt commented on this reviewThank you so so much for taking the time to review and for your kind words. - RRRobert· March 31st, 2025Booked this on the strength of its itinerary and was not disappointed. Upon landing in Cairo, EVERYTHING was handled with professionalism and attention to detail, even though the group was small. This extended throughout the itinerary which featured some of the most knowledgeable guides anyone could ask for. Major shout-out to Anas, who was our beacon in Luxor and the cruise to Aswan. The stories he told were riveting and enhanced the experience greatly. There are no downsides to this tour. Pacing was aggressive, but not at the expense of the experience. This balance is difficult to achieve, and they nailed it. Accommodations were all top notch and there was never a moment where I was concerned about anything related to planning or execution. It was a pleasure.Show moreAB Voyages Egypt commented on this reviewDear Robert Thank you so much for your kind words! - Henrique· February 23rd, 2025A wonderful week traveling around Egypt! We were accompanied by Anas, an energetic and respectful guide. In Luxor, his passion for the colors of Habu Temple was contagious, making us appreciate them just as much. - SHSteven· February 18th, 2025A high-quality guide group tour with 6 members. All hotel stays where at 5-star accommodations. Provided food was Good to Excellent. First was at the Mena House Hotel next door to the Great Pyramid. Visited most of the well-known pyramids in the Giza area and the Great Egypt museum in Cairo. Visit to a silk carpet making factory and demo of carpet making to include harvesting silk from cocoons. Also, a visit to a papyrus making factory with demo of the making of paper. Beautiful artwork available for purchase. The next leg of the tour was all about the Nile River. Source of Egypt's current and pass life. Air flight from Cairo to Luxor starts the 5-day river cruise. First night in Luxor was at the Winter Palace Hotel. Very Nice! Next day, we transferred to our river boat accommodations for the remained of our stay in Luxor. We docked across the street from the Luxor Temple complex. Luxor is beautiful. Visit to many tombs in Valley of Kings to include King Tut's tomb and Howard Carter home. Jewel Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamun tomb attracted the interest of the world to Egypt. The next day was an incredible sunrise hot air ballon ride over Luxor and the Valley of Kings. Unbelievable! From Luxor, Nile River cruise adventure starts. Stopping for a visit of Kom Ombo Temple in Edfu. Continuing to Aswan. Aswan centers around the two dams. Visit to the High Dam and Abu Simbel home to Ramesses II Temple and Hathor. Large rock-cut temples rescued from the waters of Lake Nasser before construction of the High Dam. Next in Aswan, we visited the Temple of Philae complex which is dedicated to Isis. Contruction of Low Dam flooded the Temple complex and had to be relocated to higher ground. Last night in Aswan we relocated from River boat to Movenpick Aswan. A beautiful hotel on an island in the middle of the Nile. Highlight of the last night in Aswan was the Nubban village visit. Hopping on water taxis to make our way. The water taxis were an experience on their own. Back to Cairo for the last day. Once again, a super nice hotel alone the banks of the Nile. A walking tour of old Cairo, The Hanging Church and Old Cairo Bazaar. What a wonderful bucket list vacation.Show moreTrip date: February 2025
- DMDoug· February 14th, 2025We couldn't have made a better choice. All of our expectations, and then some were met. Our tour guides, Marwa and Anas, were remarkable.
