What people love about Egypt Tours in December
- Best Of Egypt - 5* Cruise
Back in May 2016 we went on a 10 days Best of Egypt tour with Timeless Tours. As frequent travelers we have always used tour companies to get the best experience out of a destination, we never back packed. We have been to Brazil, Thailand, and at least 20 countries in Eastern and Western Europe. So we are pretty experienced with what we should expect from tour companies. Hotels were Nice and Clean, the Cairo (oasis) Hotel was nice and calm, breakfast was included. In the beginning we got a smoker room, but when we requested another they were prompt to apologize and switch it for us. Then we were flown to Aswan (Southern Egypt) and we joined a 5 star Nile cruise, it was very nice and clean and the staff was amazing. It was full board, that means food was all included and you only paid for the drinks. It was a heck of a deal!! we indulged in drinks and my whole tab by the end of the 3 days was 200 Egyptian pounds, which translated at that time to about 21 dollars!!! The Hurgada Hotel was a 4 star hotel and the rooms were very spacious with big bathrooms! It had a huge designer pool and a really nice beach. To top all that it was all inclusive, which means your food and drinks are all covered!! ******************PAY ATTENTION HERE************************* This will be the biggest Trick I can give you about visiting Egypt!! With all the included Food and Drinks in this Tour it is essential for a tourist to know 2 facts: 1st is that the Egyptian Pound is worth about 7-10 cents to the American Dollar 2nd is that the people serving you in all the hotels and drivers make less than 50 pounds or 3 dollars a day!! **Although the tour guide will collect about 200 pounds or about 12 dollars per person for the tips of the whole trip You Will Need Extra **TIP**, this is NOT THE TIME TO BE SMART WITH YOUR MONEY!!** save your money from buying overly expensive souvenirs but Don't Save on TIPS**** So always carry 5 and 10 pound bills with you not just the 100 or 200 pound bills. I Can't emphasize it enough, """"DON'T BE STINGY WITH TIPS"""" if you give your waiter at the cruise restaurant 5-10 pounds per meal you spent 3 dollars per day and you will be treated like a KING!!!!!!! It will dramatically alter your experience with the servers!! So Keep in mind to spend about 30-50 dollars extra in tips for whole 10 day trip. **If you are a couple or a family together 30-50 dollars will be all you need, it is not per person!** ************************************************************************** We are originally Egyptian but have migrated to the USA a long time ago. we wanted to see Egypt this time as a tourist. So as an Egyptian you would think you would find a guide boring or brings old information, But on the contrary, Our guide Ramez was very knowledgeable. He impressed us (The Egyptians and the Australians who were with us) with all the details he knew that even us as natives were oblivious to. Timeless Egypt tours has been very punctual and Nimble. They were always on their feet anticipating the next step of the journey. When it was too hot through the day Ramez coordinated with the company to change our schedule to afternoon visits to the Luxor temple. and it was AMAZING! We asked as Coptic Christians to visit a church that was dear to us in Luxor, he arranged for the transportation without interrupting the whole tour and waited to receive us. All the transports were included and were done in Newer travel vans, always clean, always air conditioned, and the drivers were very skilled. In Abu Simble, it was a 3 hours drive in the desert from the cruise docking site. We left at 4 am in our air conditioned van with other tour buses accompanied by a security convoy that surrounded us the whole way going and back. We arrived at 7 am and we left there at 9:30 am avoiding the scorching heat. It was all prepared ahead of time and the authorities were always in contact with the drivers to check on our well being. It was all well coordinated and very organized. This was an extra tour but definitely worth the extra expense. Also I recommend you choose Best of Egypt(10 days) or the Nile Jewel(9 days) tours. If you do so your transfer to Aswan and back from Hurgada is done by plane. They took us to the airport and waited till we were safely at our gate and a representative received us on the other side and they were never late. Again everything was very well coordinated and organized. When we arrived in Hurgada we booked a diving trip with them, but Alas when we arrived I fell sick and I couldn't make in the morning. Ramez our guide explained the situation to the excursion operators and refunded us the money before they left on the dive. I have also spoken to the company owner ( Hany) a few times and I would like to point out that he was very helpful and accommodating. He was honest and he made sure we got everything we paid for. Transfers from and to the airport were included. As we had family in Cairo they naturally picked us up from the airport and we visited for a day, He was more than happy to pick us up from the family house and deliver us to the hotel at night. Also we visited family for a week "after" the tour ended but he was also happy to pick us up from the family house to deliver us to the airport for our trip back. So all in all we were very Happy with the tour as you can tell, So enjoy The Trip and Don't forget to TIP :)
- Egypt Explorer - Felucca cruise & Red Sea
The tour over all was great, especially at the price. The accommodation was especially impressive. I do think though that the overnight 12hr minibus from Cairo to Luxor needs looking at as it's a grueller tbh, those bloody speed bumps. . . ! One of our group took the flight option, more expensive I know, but with hindsight, a very smart move. I'd recommend taking some prescription pills for travel bugs too. I am still suffering from symptoms a week since leaving Egypt, and understand it's commonplace esp with us Brits! So thankyou all for a good trip and to those thinking of doing it - consider the flight option and take some quality meds.
- 9 Days Nile Jewel Tour (Superior Hotels) with GEM Museum Visit
not being a sailor I didn't know what to expect- however I didn't even know the boat was moving! smooth sailing all the way, the food was excellent, entertainment great, staff were fun and we thoroughly absorbed all of the culture and history that presented to us. The Galabaya party on board was heaps of fun- with those distinctly Egyptian games being a real laugh! On our cruise we were lucky?? enough to be in Aswan when hit record temperatures of 43 degrees- thank god for cool drinks and air-conditioning...
