Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
A Holiday in Egypt representative meets you at Cairo International Airport and drives you by private air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Cairo. The pickup happens regardless of when you arrive, so you don't need to worry about timing. You'll have the evening free to settle in and get acclimated to the city.
- Day 2
Giza - Aswan
After breakfast, your egyptology guide picks you up to explore the Pyramids of Giza, including Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, then you'll see the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Lunch happens at a local restaurant near the pyramids. Later in the afternoon, you check out the Grand Egyptian Museum, which holds over 100,000 artifacts including Tutankhamun's treasures. By evening, you head to Giza train station to board the sleeper train heading to Aswan.

Aswan
Breakfast is served on the train as you arrive in Aswan in the morning. Your guide picks you up and takes you to Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. This UNESCO site was taken apart and moved to nearby Agilkia Island back in the 1970s to protect it before the Aswan High Dam was completed. You'll have lunch at the cruise ship, and the afternoon is yours to do as you like, though an optional tour to a Nubian village can be arranged if you're interested.

Kom Ombo
An optional tour to Abu Simbel temples is available in the morning if you want to go. In the afternoon, you sail from Aswan toward Kom Ombo and visit Kom Ombo Temple, which overlooks the Nile. The temple is split into two separate temples, each with its own entrance, hypostyle halls, and sanctuaries.

Edfu - Luxor
Following breakfast, your guide takes you to Edfu Temple, which is dedicated to the god Horus and is considered the best preserved Greco-Roman temple in Egypt. You'll see theatrical depictions on its walls showing Horus's victory over the devil god Seth. Then you sail to Luxor, getting there around 3 pm. The rest of the afternoon you spend on the East Bank visiting Karnak Temples, the largest temple complex ever built spreading across 247 acres, and Luxor Temple, constructed around 1400 BCE.

Hurghada
An optional early morning hot air balloon ride over the West Bank is available with a breakfast box included. After checking out from the cruise and having breakfast, you visit the Valley of the Kings, where rock-cut tombs for pharaohs and nobles were carved out over nearly 500 years starting in the 16th century BC. You'll tour the Temple of Hatshepsut with its three massive terraces rising into the Deir el-Bahari cliffs, and see the Colossi of Memnon, two huge stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Then you head by air-conditioned bus to your resort in Hurghada.

Cairo
After breakfast, you check out from your hotel in Hurghada and take an air-conditioned bus back to Cairo. When you arrive, a Holiday in Egypt representative meets you and transfers you to your hotel in Cairo.

Cairo
Your trip comes to an end today. After breakfast, you check out from your Cairo hotel and join your guide for final Cairo highlights. You'll visit Salah El Din Citadel, a fortress that served as Egypt's government seat until the 1860s, built during Salah ad-Din's reign from 1176 to 1182. Then you tour Mohamed Ali Mosque, constructed between 1830 and 1848 and known as 'The Alabaster Mosque' because of its pure alabaster walls, inspired by Istanbul's Blue Mosque. Lunch happens at a local restaurant, after which you visit Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, the oldest and most famous bazaar in the Middle East founded in 970 AD. You transfer to the airport and the tour ends around 2 pm.
