Lucky that it was a small group of only six and the three couples got together amicably. The itinerary was well-planned, covering all the must-see attractions, including a delightful Nile cruise that truly captured the essence of Egypt. The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the hotel in Hurghada picked by ‘Holiday in Egypt’. The tour guides were knowledgeable and appropriately interactive. Special mention to Ahmed Kassem, in Luxor and Aswan, and Suhaila, in Cairo. Muhammad, the overseer, was always responsive and proactive to fix any potential problem or clarify arrangements. The temples at Luxor and Aswan are of a scale and quality that needs to be seen to be believed. Visit them with this group and you will not be disappointed. The Valley of the Kings was special, visiting the actual tombs, and even seeing Tutankhamen’s mummy up close. We had three nights in Hurghada at a resort. This was the perfect way to finish our trip, with high quality accommodation, beach access and all food and drinks covered. I suggest you include this leg in your booking. Seldom do we feel that we were given value for money, but on this tour, the value was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. Take advantage of their deals, while they still exist.Show more

I booked the tour several months out and every time I had a question, I received a response right away. Mohamed always welcomed my questions. Once we arrived in Egypt, everything with timely and very organized. We did not feel rushed at any of the sites and our guides, Sohaila, Hassan, and Mayo did a phenomenal job explaining the history to us. While we had some initial nerves about traveling there, we quickly felt at ease thanks to our incredible tour guides, who were welcoming, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout. At no point did we feel unsafe—in fact, we felt completely taken care of. Cairo was an unforgettable introduction to the country. The energy of 25 million people is something you have to experience to believe. Our visit to the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx was a powerful moment—especially being able to go inside one of the pyramids, which was a deeply moving experience. We opted for the overnight train to Aswan, which we were both curious and excited about after watching several travel videos. It turned out to be a highlight! There were guards on board, the sleeping compartments were comfortable, the food was surprisingly good, and the Nile views from the train were beautiful. Having a tour rep meet us at the station and help us onto the correct train and compartment made the process completely stress-free. In Aswan, we met our wonderful guide Ahmed, who stayed with us for the rest of the journey. I can’t say enough good things about him—his passion and knowledge made the sites come alive. Asked on April 7th, 2025I had a few questions about the tour: - I understand you can upgrade the nile cruise somehow, but I cannot see how you can do that or what the upgrade is. Can you please explain? - The hotel in Hurghada is either the Iberotel or the JAZ Elite Casa Del Mar. Is it possible to ensure that we go to the JAZ Elite? I am travelling with a 14 year old daughter. - We will be travelling back to Finland and there are no flights from Cairo after 6PM. Is it possible to stay in Hurghada for an extra night and transfer to the airport in Hurghada instead of going to Cairo?

However, rest assured that we work with some of the best Nile cruise ships available, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all our guests. As for the resort in Hurghada: Your stay will be at the Iberotel Casa Del Mar, which is a fantastic property with excellent family-friendly amenities. We're confident you and your daughter will have a great time there. And yes, it is absolutely possible to extend your stay in Hurghada for an extra night and arrange a transfer to Hurghada airport instead of returning to Cairo.

From there can we get to major site seeing areas - mosque, bazaar via metro train or uber? On day 9 - what time do we return? Is it free time on our own after we return? On day 10 - can we do activities if our flight leaves at 9:40am? On the Nile cruise is the water smooth? Does anyone ever get seasick? Is there breeze on the boat when sailing so that you can lay by the pool even though it is warm in June? Is it safe for two females to walk around Cairo and Hurghada during the day or in the evening?

Travel insurance is required. We will pick you up at anytime you arrive, you can store your luggage at the hotel. The tour includes a tour to old Cairo. You return to Cairo the 9th day around 7 PM, you will then have free time. On the Nile cruise the sailing is smooth and there are no high waves like the sea, no body gets seasick. During the sailing there is breeze and you can enjoy laying by the pool and sunbathing. It's safe to walk alone in Hurghada and Cairo, though we recommend asking your tour manager upon arrival.

You can choose pre tour accommodation option and we will make sure it's booked at the same hotel. Asked on February 12th, 2025I was thinking of taking my parents on this trip (and they have both wanted to see Egypt for their entire lives) but they are both in their 70s and mobility can sometimes be an issue for them (they are both able to walk but not for extended periods of time). I just wanted to check whether this one is suitable (even though it says up to 88 year old's). Would the tour company require them to be on their feet for extended periods of time or are they able to opt out of most activities if need be (and just stay at the accommodation or on the boat). Don't want to be an inconvenience to the rest of the group but also want to make sure they are not pushed too far. If this is not suitable then let me know if there is another similar trip that is more catered to the elderly.

Your parents are welcomed on this tour, they can do some activities that doesn't require standing on their feet for extended times. They can also enjoy relaxing at the hotel or Nile cruise if they don't feel like going on an activity, the tour guide will help much regarding the activities they can fully do, or even just walk a bit around some temples for short times. We would only suggest upgrading to flights as the sleeper train would be too long for them, 13 hours long from Cairo to Aswan. We also have another tour for 8 days including flights if you would like to look into it.

The only extra fees would be entrance fees US 150$ per person covering all sightseeing mentioned in the itinerary, tipping is $8 per person per day covering drivers and Nile cruise staff. Insurance is also not mandatory if you are not willing to buy it or if you have already travel insurance with your local insurance company. Regarding the extra excursions it's not recommended to do them this way, the itinerary covers the main highlights of Egypt. You can do that for example when the cruise arrives to Luxor for a city tour or so on and your guide will instruct you on how is the best way to do it.

What I meant is it's not recommended to do extra excursions using a taxi or bike, but for sure some extra excursions are highly recommended like Abu Simbel, hot air balloon, Nubian village etc. There are also extra activities to do in Cairo if you have any free day like Saqqara Memphis, grand Egyptian museum or Alexandria day tour.
