What people love about Egypt Tours in July
- Wonders of Egypt (Classic, Summer)
I can't say what I loved most about this trip. At first I was astounded by how Egyptian people are so friendly and keen to make sure that travellers felt at ease (except perhaps for market stall sellers who tend to be a little on the over-enthusiastic side!), but then I was awestruck by the breath-taking monuments all over the country that continue to be uncovered even to this day. The food was delicious (the buffets on the boat were incredible) and service spectacular. Our Travel Director was thoughtful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and kind. The High Tea at the Old Cateract Hotel was truly a highlight, and the visit to the village bakery (Egyptian Village) gave us a wonderful chance to see how rural Egyptians live (what a wonderful family!!). I would do exactly the same trip all over again!
- Follow The Sun to Egypt
Versatile and very fast past, yet comfortable and fun! Excellent guide, taking good enjoyable tour, not just the typical ancient Egypt tour that everyone hears about
- Splendours of Egypt (Classic, Summer)
the trip was fantastic. Our group was small and we were able to get to know everyone and we all got along. The sights we saw were just unbelievable. There are just not any words to describe all the great things we got to see. Our tour director was great, very personable and so very knowledgeable. Can't say enough good things. the only down side was the boat on our Nile cruise could use with a little updating, biut the food was good and the beds were comfortable.
What our customers ask about Egypt Tours in July 2026
What is the weather like in Egypt during July?
Egypt reaches peak temperatures in July with daytime highs of 40°C (104°F) in southern cities like Luxor and Aswan. Most visitors start their days early to explore sites like the Valley of the Kings before the intense midday heat. The dry climate makes the heat more bearable and modern hotels such as the Steigenberger El Tahrir in Cairo offer reliable air conditioning. As one TourRadar traveler notes: "It was definitely hot in July but not too many other tourists so actually I highly recommend summertime."
What are the best activities to do in Egypt during July?
The summer heat shapes daily schedules with archaeological visits in the early morning followed by water activities in the afternoon. Many travelers split their time between cultural sites and cooling off at Red Sea destinations like Hurghada. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The Nile cruise was a perfect escape from the July heat and the snorkeling in Hurghada's crystal clear waters was unforgettable." Popular options include dawn balloon rides over Luxor indoor visits to the Egyptian Museum and evening felucca sails.
Are there any special events or festivals in Egypt during July?
July brings cultural celebrations across Egypt with the Gafari Festival in Aswan showcasing Nubian music and dance as a highlight. As one TourRadar reviewer mentioned: "During our July tour we experienced amazing evening entertainment on our Nile cruise with traditional Egyptian music and a Nubian village visit in Aswan that showed us local festivities." Cruise ships like MS Nile Quest often arrange Egyptian themed evenings with local performers.
How does July affect tour schedules in Egypt?
Tour operators adapt their schedules to the summer conditions. As one TourRadar guide explained: "We start very early around 6 AM for outdoor sites like the Pyramids and Valley of the Kings then plan indoor activities or water-based excursions during peak afternoon heat." Tours like Magic of Egypt arrange temple visits at dawn and dusk with midday breaks in air-conditioned spaces or on cruise ships.
Are July crowds different from other months in Egypt?
Summer sees fewer visitors than the peak winter season creating more space at major attractions. July makes up about 13% of yearly bookings on popular routes like the Magic of Egypt tour. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Despite the heat we enjoyed shorter queues at the pyramids and temples and our guide could spend more time explaining the history at each site." Morning visits to sites like Valley of the Kings tend to be less crowded.
