What people love about touring Egypt solo
- Queen Isis Egypt Tour – Women Only (No Single Supplement)
The boat was good and tours were great. Guides were knowledgeable. Luxor is definitely highlife of trip. Karnak and Luxor temples and across the river valley of the kings. Boat let’s you see how much of population depends on the Nile.
- Egypt Explorer (Cairo, Luxor, Aswan & Abu Simbel)
This was an incredible tour! My visit to Egypt was fascinating, fun, and educational. My guide, Ayman, and his whole team were truly outstanding. He was clearly an expert on Egyptian history and culture and his enthusiasm spread to our whole group! The team was super helpful and acommodated my requests, including changes to my itinerary and logistics. Could not have gone more smoothly. Thanks for the wonderful time!
- Immortal Egypt - GEM visit - 5 stars accommodation
Truly exceptional tour. I made memories that I will never forget. Our tour guides were wonderful and experts in egyptology and archaeology. They could answer all our questions and were extremely kind. I would like to thank Mohammad and Mohammad from Cairo who ensured that every step of our journey was smooth. our lovely guide Mohammad gave us an a unique egyptian perspective on the pyramids, sphinx and the Egyptian Museum. Many facts and narratives that were not known to us in the west. I’d also like to thank our charming guide Anas who was with us on the cruise section of our tour. We visited the most insane temples, beautiful sceneries and mind blowing Unesco sites and everything was described to us with clarity and wit. I was able to absorb lots of historical knowledge. Moreover he was a very caring individual who offered to take us to pharmacies if any of us needed medication and get us sim Cards (which i highly recommend for data). Moreover I would like to add, that you should definitely go on this particular tour as it is planned extremely well. Ala and his team go above and beyond to make sure everything is just right. The pyramids, Philae Temple , the Valley of the kings and the optional red sea excursion to paradise island (snorkelling too!) were some of the best memories for me personally. The overwhelming sense of awe is something I will never forget. As for advice I would give to anyone going to Egypt in general: 1) BRING CASH ! american and egyptian dollars as is it just the norm for everyone to use cash and it is the most widely accepted form of currency 2) Buy a sim Card for wifi and data - will save you lots of hassle as some hotels charge for wifi by the day and u may only use it in the lobby. This issue was of no fault of the tour team but rather the way hotels are run in general in the country. 3) Be mindful and accepting of the tipping culture in Egpyt. Hotel staff and service staff, loo attendants may hint for tips and it does not hurt to tip and be polite bc ppl’s livelihoods may be somewhat reliant on these things. Just make sure you are aware of the exchange rates and not being completely oblivious to how much you should tip. Any issues with tipping that come up - always talk to your guide and they will resolve it :) Overall, I am greatful that we booked Immortal Egypt Tour and I would highly recommend everyone to choose this particular package.
What our customers ask about Egypt Tours for Solo Travelers
Which areas of Egypt are most solo traveler-friendly on guided tours?
Luxor Aswan and the Nile cruise route connecting them stand out as the most welcoming areas for solo travelers. These destinations blend structured guided activities with natural opportunities to meet others. The Steigenberger and Movenpick hotels in these areas are particularly well-suited for those traveling alone with welcoming common areas and group-friendly facilities. A TourRadar reviewer noted: "The Nile cruise was particularly enjoyable - our Nile cruise guide Saladino made everyone feel included and the evening activities brought the whole group together."
How social is the experience for solo travelers on guided Egypt tours?
Group tours in Egypt create natural environments for meeting fellow travelers especially during Nile cruise portions. Groups typically include 8-15 people which creates easy opportunities for meaningful connections. The Steigenberger El Tahrir Hotel in Cairo provides shared spaces where travelers often gather and socialize. As reported by a TourRadar traveler: "Our group felt like family by the end of the cruise dining together and sharing amazing experiences at temples and historical sites."
What is the typical single supplement cost for Egypt guided tours?
Single room supplements range from USD 250-400 based on accommodation quality. The TOLIP Golden Plaza Hotel in Cairo and 5-star Nile cruises typically charge around USD 350 for private rooms. Tour companies like Intrepid Travel offer room-sharing options for travelers looking to avoid the extra cost while still ensuring comfortable accommodations.
What kind of social activities are included for solo travelers on Egypt tours?
Tours feature group dinners with local families in Aswan and Luxor cooking classes aboard cruise ships and evening entertainment including traditional belly dancing. The Egyptian Night Party lets travelers wear traditional galabeyas and join in local customs. Felucca sailboat rides and visits to Nubian villages naturally bring groups together through shared experiences.
What's the best time for solo travelers to visit Egypt?
The period from October through April brings mild temperatures ideal for exploring Egypt's outdoor sites. Booking data shows November and March attract the highest numbers of solo travelers. These months offer comfortable conditions for seeing the Valley of the Kings and taking Nile cruises with temperatures that make outdoor exploration pleasant.
How do meal arrangements work for solo travelers on Egypt guided tours?
Group meals form a central part of the experience particularly on Nile cruises where three daily meals are shared with fellow travelers. The MS Sonesta Moon cruise ship serves buffet-style breakfast and dinner creating natural social settings. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The group meals were fantastic for getting to know everyone and our guide always ensured solo travelers were included in dinner plans during free evenings."
