Nile Cruise for Solo / Single Travelers Reviews
- River Nile Story - 4 Days 5 stars Nile Cruise Aswan to Luxor with meals and Sightseeing
Overall, we had an unforgettable experience on the 4 Day Nile River Cruise tour. We were able to tour all of the major sites, transportation was smooth, accommodation and meals on the cruise boat were good, and we are thankful to our tour guide Talaat for pulling it all together. We did encounter some relatively minor surprises / frustrations along the way worth noting. It wasn't clear what cruise boat we would be staying on beforehand (e.g. name of cruise line, types of amenities on board, etc.). In our case, our boat was the "Magic" which appeared to have been a popular selection for German tourists booking through Sonnenklar (separate from Egypt Best Holidays). It ended up being fine for us, we thought the boat was nice; but it could be a surprise for those with a particular cruise in mind, so may be worth asking for more details in advance to ensure the cruise booked for you aligns with your preferences. Communication wasn't always the best, but Talaat was responsive when we brought our feedback to his attention. The first day we didn't go to the unfinished oblisk, which was listed on the Egypt Best Holidays itinerary online when booking, apparently due to a miscommunication between Egypt Best Holidays and Talaat. However, Talaat fixed it and got us there the next day before the boat sailed so no harm done in the end. Communication style during the tours didn't always align with our preference (e.g. sometimes too many details, not enough time for Q&A and independent viewing), but again Talaat was responsive to our feedback when we shared it and did his best to accommodate. Some specific positives to highlight about Talaat - there is no question that he is very knowledgeable and is describing the most significant aspects of each site in great detail off of the top of his head, making the tours very informative for the group. He also was good about getting us to tour the temples at ideal times. He was very thoughtful to have a contact reserve tickets for us at Karnak temple before the ticket office closed, which still allowed us prime time for viewing Karnak near sunset with few visitors left - this was the most striking, unforgettable part of the trip for us. Considering all of the above, we were happy with the package and believe it is a great value particularly at the price point considering accomodation, transport, meals, and tour guide services. Thanks to Egypt Best Holidays and Talaat for an unforgettable experience in our first visit to Egypt.
- Nile Odyssey: Luxor - Aswan -Abu Simbel - Hot Air balloon A5 days with tour guided
I highly recommend the 5 days Nile cruise guided tour. You will get to visit the iconic temples in Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel and the mode of transportation varies from car, mini van, horse carriages and of course via cruise. Be prepared to do loads of walking but you will enjoy and be mesmerised with every steps that you take. My tour guide also ensure that we visited reputable shopping areas. I enjoyed myself thoroughly and as a solo female traveller, i felt very safe with my tour guide, Mr Mohamed Hashem. The tour agency contact person, Mr Ahmed Kadi, also make a point to connect with me during the tour to check on things.
- 5 Days – 4 Nights Nile Cruise 5 stars from Luxor to Aswan
My wife and I were very pleased, as the Nile cruise with excursions exceeded our expectations beyond. :) The cruise had the most friendly staff ! Ahmed Kassem was our tour leader, and he had such in-depth knowledge and never made things boring and was very informative. Ahmed really made the excursions worthwhile. I definitely recommend Holiday in Egypt via Tour Radar
What our customers ask about Nile Cruises for Solo / Single Travelers
What's included in meals for solo travelers on Nile cruises?
Most Nile cruises include three daily meals served buffet-style. The Le Fayan II cruise represents the standard offering with breakfast lunch and dinner featuring Egyptian international and vegetarian dishes. The dining setup encourages socializing with fellow travelers making meals a natural time to connect. A TourRadar reviewer shared: "The food variety was excellent with both Egyptian and international dishes making it easy to find something you like even as a picky eater."
What's the best time of year for solo travelers to cruise the Nile?
The prime season runs from October through April when temperatures are pleasant and cruise ships see more travelers. The Steigenberger Nile Palace in Luxor reports its highest solo bookings during these months. November and February tend to draw the most solo travelers. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "Traveling in February was perfect - comfortable temperatures and plenty of other travelers to socialize with."
Which areas along the Nile are most recommended for solo travelers?
The route between Luxor and Aswan offers the best experience for solo travelers. This stretch combines strong security organized tours and regular interaction with other travelers. Key stops include the Valley of the Kings Philae Temple and Kom Ombo Temple. The Temple of Karnak and Abu Simbel are especially good for solo visitors thanks to reliable group tours and a steady flow of tourists throughout the year.
What is the average group size for Nile River guided tours?
Tour groups typically range from 15 to 25 people creating an environment that balances personal attention with social opportunities. Ships like the Royal Ruby and MS Opera run at 70% capacity to ensure comfort. A TourRadar review of Beyond the Nile Tours noted: "Our group of 18 was perfect - small enough for personalized attention at sites like Abu Simbel and Karnak Temple yet large enough to meet interesting people."
Do I need to book optional excursions in advance as a solo traveler?
Popular extras like the Abu Simbel tour ($100) and hot air balloon rides ($100) are available onboard but booking ahead is smart especially during busy seasons. Egypt Gift Tours reports that activities like the Nubian Village tour and evening shows often reach capacity quickly. One TourRadar traveler advised: "Book the Abu Simbel tour in advance - it's a must-see and tends to fill up quickly."
How safe is it to travel solo on a Nile River cruise tour?
The structured nature of Nile cruises makes them a secure choice for solo travelers. Ships like the Mayfair and Sara cruise provide round-the-clock staff guides for all excursions and organized transfers. A TourRadar traveler noted: "As a solo traveler I felt completely safe the entire time with our knowledgeable guide Hassan who took great care of us and even recovered my lost phone from a temple!"
