What people love about Thailand Tours in August
- Bangkok to Chiang Mai Express
wonderful guide (sammat ) really appreciated his knowledge and he was so humbly friendly and kept us entertained and full of laughter . super thankful and blessed to been part of a rad travel guide 5 STARS
- Thai Experience
I Attended the Thai Experience tour in December of 2017. The itenerary was great with a good mixture of pre-planned activities and down time. Jack an Adam, our guides, were awesome. They were knowledgable and professional. It genuinely was their mission to ensure everyone had a great time and got what they wanted out of the trip. This isn't just a job to them! I would highly recommend this trip in particular for anyone wanting to see Thailand and company in general to anyone wanting to see any of their destinations either as a group or solo traveller. Cheers for a great time in Thailand!
- Thai Intro + Dive
Had an amazing Time! Well organised and had lots of fun with all the People on the Tour!

Chiang Mai showcases traditional Lanna performances where visitors can watch local dance and music. The Full Moon Party lights up Koh Phangan's beaches drawing thousands of international revelers. According to a TruTravels guide it's "legendary spectacular and you couldn't be with a better crew."
What are the best places to visit in Thailand during August?
The Gulf islands including Koh Samui Koh Phangan and Koh Tao offer the most reliable weather during August. The northern region around Chiang Mai transforms into a green paradise with waterfalls reaching peak flow in Doi Suthep National Park. A TourRadar traveler confirms this saying "The Mae Taeng River was spectacular for rafting in August with higher water levels and the Imperial River House Chiang Rai provided amazing views of the verdant mountains."
How crowded are major tourist attractions in Thailand during August?
August brings fewer visitors than peak season giving travelers more space at key sites. The Grand Palace Wat Phra Singh and Phi Phi Islands see lighter crowds. As one TourRadar visitor observed "We practically had Wat Phra That Doi Suthep to ourselves one rainy morning while staying at Na Nirand Romantic Boutique Resort in Chiang Mai."
What activities are recommended in Thailand during August?
The month's conditions are ideal for white water rafting in the north exploring waterfalls near Kanchanaburi and joining Thai cooking classes. Morning water activities remain possible near Phuket's Kata Sea Breeze Resort. A TourRadar participant shared "The bamboo rafting at Khao Sok was incredible with higher water levels making it extra exciting."
What is the weather like in Thailand during August?
Weather patterns vary across Thailand during August. Bangkok sees afternoon rain with temperatures near 88°F (31°C). Northern regions like Chiang Mai experience peak rainfall. Southern islands face choppier seas but maintain sunny periods between showers. TourRadar travelers note weather impacts on activities saying "we had a few rainy days that affected some outdoor plans and the transfers between islands occasionally had delays."
What are the accommodation options like in Thailand during August?
Hotels offer lower rates and special deals throughout August. The Sukosol Hotel in Bangkok provides covered access to nearby sites while NA NIRAND Romantic Boutique Resort in Chiang Mai features comfortable indoor spaces for rainy days. TourRadar travelers suggest choosing properties with good indoor facilities during the wet season.
