Itinerary
- Day 1
Bangkok
You'll arrive in Bangkok and head to your hotel to settle in. The tour leader meets you at 6pm for a welcome meeting, and there's an optional dinner if you're interested. If you want to join the longtail canal trip, you need to get there by 1pm, so arriving earlier gives you that option. Airport transfers from Suvarnabhumi are arranged for you.

- Day 2
Bangkok
Starting early, you'll walk through Bangkok's major sights on foot. The Grand Palace and its Emerald Buddha are first, then you'll head to Wat Po to see the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. After that, the afternoon is yours to wander around however you like. Later that evening, you board an overnight train heading to Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai
You arrive in Chiang Mai this morning and have time to check out the old town with its ancient walls and moats, plus traditional temples throughout. A sightseeing tour takes you to the famous Doi Suthep temple. If you're interested, the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar is open for browsing later on.

Elephant Nature Park
This morning you head out to Elephant Nature Park, about 90 minutes from Chiang Mai. It's one of Thailand's largest conservation centers where rescued elephants live in natural conditions. You'll watch them from viewing platforms and take guided walks along the river. By evening, you're back in Chiang Mai.

Si Satchanalai - Naton Chan
You travel south to Si Satchanalai and visit Wat Chang Lom, which has 39 standing elephants and a distinctive Ceylonese-style tower. After that, you head to the rural village of Naton Chan where you'll stay in a simple homestay. During the evening, you walk through the village, watch local artisans doing their work, and have dinner prepared by your hosts.

Sukhothai - Kamphaengphet - Uthai Thani
A short drive gets you to Sukhothai, where you explore the old city by bicycle and see historical sites from Siam's first capital. There are 21 sites inside the city walls and 70 more outside. Later you travel south by bus, stopping at Kamphaengphet, a UNESCO World Heritage site with temples and buildings from the 13th to 17th centuries.

Sakraekrang River - Ayutthaya
You start with a morning visit to a local market, then board a traditional boat for a river trip along the Sakraekrang River. You'll see how indigenous river dwellers and boat people live their daily lives. After that, you continue south by bus to Ayutthaya, another ancient capital. A walking tour includes the Royal Palace and several temples in the area.

Kanchanaburi
An early morning drive takes you to Kanchanaburi (2-3 hours). You'll visit the war cemetery and the Bridge over the River Kwai, which was built as part of the Death Railway during WWII. You take a train ride on a section of the original railway, then head to Hellfire Pass where a museum explains the harsh conditions workers faced. Afterward, you walk through the cuttings in the rock.

Kanchanaburi
The whole day is spent exploring the jungle and river, using both walking and bamboo rafts to get around. If you're up for it, there's an optional visit to Sai Yok National Park where you can walk through lush forest, check out caves, and see waterfalls.

Maeklong - Bangkok
You start early driving back to Bangkok. On the way, you stop at the Maeklong Railway Market, which is literally built on the train tracks. When the provincial train comes through, canopies fold back and produce gets moved out of the way. It's quite a sight to see. You'll browse around and pick up fresh produce, then have the afternoon free in Bangkok for shopping or more sightseeing.

Bangkok
After breakfast at your hotel, the tour wraps up and you're free to leave whenever you like. Luggage storage is available if your flight is later in the day. Airport transfers from Suvarnabhumi are available. If you want to explore more, Chinatown is nearby, or you could extend your stay or head to the Koh Samet beaches.
