What people love about Spain Tours in September
- Andalucia & Toledo, 5 days on Tuesdays
Tour was very good. Hotels and food excellent. Maybe would be better to stay in Malaga rather than Torremolinos, (not a lot to do there). Disappointed not to have seen inside the Alhambra Palace. Excellent coach driver. Lots of areas covered in the 5 days, well organised.
- Best of Southern Spain
This tour was everything it was advertised to be. Good balance of tours and free time. Loved the small group. Lalo was a FANTASTIC guide. He was professional and knowledgable and at times had to be a mother, babysitter, principal and most importantly, tour guide. He plaed all these roles well - much better than I could have, that's for sure.
- Walk the Camino de Santiago
Very nice experience, average hotels, my single room was sometimes very small, hotel in Santiago had no window looking outside but only in a internal court, very poor breakfast except in Sarria, My name for the survet is Marie Nicole and not Janet !!!!
What our customers ask about Spain Tours in September 2026
What makes September an ideal time to visit Spain's Andalusia region?
September brings milder temperatures to Andalusia ranging from 75-85°F (24-29°C) making walking and exploration more comfortable than summer's intense heat. The region sees fewer tourists yet maintains its lively atmosphere. Recent visitors report pleasant conditions for exploring major sites like Seville's Plaza de España and Granada's Alhambra. Hotels such as the Silken Al-Andalus Palace in Seville and the Saray Hotel in Granada offer good availability at better rates than peak season.
What are the best coastal areas to visit in Spain during September?
Costa del Sol and Costa Brava welcome visitors with sea temperatures around 75°F (24°C) and less crowded beaches. Beach towns like Nerja and Tossa de Mar provide a mix of seaside relaxation and cultural activities. Hotels including Sol Príncipe Torremolinos remain open while offering more competitive rates. Visitors note that September allows for peaceful beach days while still being warm enough for swimming.
Which Spanish festivals and events can I experience in September?
The month brings cultural celebrations across Spain including the San Sebastián Film Festival and Barcelona's La Mercè Festival with its human tower competitions and fire runs. Wine enthusiasts can join the Rioja Wine Harvest Festival while Tarragona hosts the Santa Tecla Festival. In even-numbered years Seville presents the Bienal de Flamenco drawing dance enthusiasts from around the world.
How crowded are major attractions in Spain during September?
September offers a noticeable decrease in visitor numbers compared to summer peaks. Wait times at popular sites like the Alhambra Palace and Sagrada Familia become more manageable. Central hotels such as the Melia Granada and NH Collection Sevilla provide easy access for early morning visits to main attractions when crowds are thinnest.
What outdoor activities are best in Spain during September?
The mild weather creates good conditions for hiking the Camino de Santiago or exploring Granada's Sierra Nevada mountains. Beach activities continue along the Costa del Sol with water temperatures staying around 23°C (73°F). The Albaicín quarter in Granada offers urban walking routes while coastal areas near Torremolinos maintain pleasant conditions for swimming and water sports.
Are prices higher in Spain during September compared to other months?
September typically sees rates drop from summer peaks while remaining higher than winter prices. Standard rooms at properties like the Catalonia Plaza average 200-250 USD per night down from 300 USD in August. Daily tour costs range between 165-428 USD reflecting the shoulder season pricing structure.
Is September good for beach activities in Spain?
The Spanish coast maintains ideal beach conditions through September with temperatures between 25-28°C (77-82°F) and water staying warm at 23°C (73°F). Popular beach destinations see fewer visitors than August yet retain their services and amenities. Beachfront properties like Sol Principe Hotel in Torremolinos continue full operations with more availability than peak season.
