- Patricia· March 31st, 2025South of Spain (Madrid-Granada-Cordoba-Sevilla and Barcelona) I recently booked a 7-day tour through TourRadar, expecting a fully guided experience as advertised. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what was promised. This tour was essentially self-guided trip with only a coordinator providing general guidance on where to go, rather than a certified tour guide offering in-depth historical and cultural insights. Key Issues & Misleading Information: 1. Self-Guided experience Not a Guided Tour – The description implied guided sightseeing, but all exploration was self-directed. If you’re looking to truly learn about the places you visit, you’ll need to book your own certified guide at each location. 2. Attractions Not Included – No entry tickets were covered. Every museum, monument, or historical site required separate bookings, often well in advance. This should have been clearly stated upfront. 3. Public Transportation Only – A Major Inconvenience – The tour exclusively relied on public transportation, which meant hauling luggage through busy city centers, navigating crowded buses and metro stations, and constantly chasing schedules. This added unnecessary stress, especially when transferring between cities. This should have been made absolutely clear upfront so travelers could properly prepare 4. Limited Communication with the local Tour Operator – Since TourRadar is a third-party vendor, direct communication with the actual tour operator was minimal. Getting details or assistance before trip was frustrating making it almost impossible to book any activities in advance. Unfortunately this resulted in missing opportunities to be able to secure entrance to many museums, historical places and monuments. We learned it is best to reserve any visits at least 2-4 weeks in advance. Furthermore- the one activity I wanted the most and booked on my own The Alhambra entrance tickets were forfeited due to a late arrival to City of Granada, an additional $390 that I lost due to poor communication thru TourRadar as a third party vendor. 5. Lodging & Meals Were Minimal – The only meal included was breakfast, and the quality of the food was poor. Adding additional meals or food expenses quickly added up. Last - Lodging in hotels included for the price of the tour were 2-3 stars. Final Thoughts & Advice If you’re comfortable navigating a trip almost entirely on your own, and willing to pay over $3500 as a couple for a trip advertised as a “tour”this might work for you. However, if you expect an organized guided experience, this is not the right tour. The listing should clearly disclose that: • This is a self-guided experience, with a local a coordinator/babysitter NOT A TOUR WITHtour with a certified tour guide. • Sightseeing is not included, and reservations must be made in advance (some places require a reservation of 1 month in advance). If TourRadar would have facilitated the contact information of the tour coordinator prior to our arrival, we could have secured entrances to iconic places in each city we visited. (Keep in mind you have to pay out pocket for each entrance- it is not included in the total fee of the tour). I would not recommend this tour for travelers expecting a structured experience with included site visits and professional guides. Transparency in advertising is essential, and this tour fell short of expectations. If you want to save a few thousand dollars, you can plan your trip to Spain on your own, book your own lodging, use public transportation, purchased tickets in advance to the local attractions in each city, and be in control of your schedule. Extremely disappointing to have booked via TourRadar.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewThank you so much for your honest review, Patricia. We regret that your experience did not match your expectations. - lisa· December 2nd, 2024Our trip to Southern Spain was amazing. Marco, our tour guide was excellent. He was so informative, friendly and helpful every step of the way. - ARArthur· November 4th, 2024I was left sick and stranded on the Southern Spain Tour. I am a 72-year-old senior who speaks little or no Spanish. I've traveled with the group several times in the past. This trip was unusual because I had three leaders over two weeks. I came down with a virus in Seville. It was my bad luck to get sick and have a leadership change during this period. I had to stay in the hotel until I recovered. My wife and other tour members went on to Barcelona. I contacted all three tour leaders and the 24-hour hotline. I got no text, phone call, or assistance from either. I was left to my own devices to make it to Barcelona. I tried to report this when I got it. I tried to get through to everyone. I suspect you will have a good experience with this company if you stay healthy and avoid injuries.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewThank you for sharing your honest feedback with us, Arthur. - DMDwayne· May 27th, 2024A well put together tour led by an excellent guide. - ASAmy· May 12th, 2024This was an amazing tour and exactly what we were looking for. The balance of free time and planned activities was what we found to be most appealing. The ease of having all accommodations and travel between cities taken care of was spectacular. Our guide, Magda, was stellar! She went above and beyond every single day, and we could not have asked for a better experience with her.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Amy, Thanks for the review and for posting the amazing pictures. - LRLaura· February 10th, 2024Hotels had dead cockroaches lying around, guide was sweet but not experienced at creating a cohesive group feel. On top of which, the credit that GAdventures gave me to compensate for the mediocrity of the trip expired in 6 months - even the airlines give you a year! And some trips have no option to have a private room (yes, I';m willing to pay extra for that).Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Laura, Thanks for your review and we always appreciate honest gueszt feedback. - ANatalie Lander· October 21st, 2022I enjoyed visiting Southern Spain. My favourite places I visited on the trip were Seville, and Granada. I enjoyed the times when the group went out for meals together as it gave us a chance to get to know each other, and engage. I thought the variety of places we visited were excellent, as it provided me with knowledge and insight about the areas we visited. The transport was OK. I did find that by only really staying for 1 full day in a location felt that some parts of the trip were a bit rushed.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewThanks for your feedback. Asked on July 3rd, 2025Are there any free days during the tour or will the guide provide us with activities each day as a group?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written July 2025
Free time is provided throughout the trip, when you have a free time, the CEO (tour leader) provide optional activities or suggestions on what to do. Free time is provided mostly on day 2, day 4 (half day), and day 6. Additional free time could be provided for few hours during the trip.

Traveler•Written July 2025Would we get the free afternoon offer to ourselves on Day 7 to Barcelona. On Day 8, would the hotel and breakfast be included?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written July 2025
Day 7 of this tour is a travel day as you are travelling from Seville to Barcelona by train. This is followed by Orientation Walk of Barcelona 15m-45m and then your G for Good Moment: Mescladis Paella Cooking Class and Dinner. There is no free time on this day as all the activities and travel time take up the day. Day 8 is the departure day so you can depart at anytime or you can book extra nights through us at the same hotel the tour finishes at if you would like to spend more time there. Yes breakfast would be included for the extra night.

Asked on June 22nd, 2025Please confirm that you have secured a guided tour of the Alhambra for me
- G AdventuresOperator•Written June 2025
Due to regulations for Alhambra's ticketing system, your passport information must be provided to G Adventures at the time of booking in order to guarantee your guided tour of the Alhambra. If your booking for this trip is confirmed with less than 90 days prior to departure, we will do our best to secure a ticket for your guided Alhambra tour. However, please note that due to high demand for tickets, we are not able to guarantee this inclusion if your booking is confirmed within this time period. In the event we cannot secure a guided tour of the Alhambra for you, alternative options such as a self-guided visit of the Alhambra (with reduced access), or visits to the nearby districts of Albaicín and Sacramonte will be arranged. Visits to the Alhambra in Granada may vary and take place on Day 3 or 4, depending on ticket availability, special events or holidays in Spain.
