Our tour guide was exceptional. The places we visited and the information on these places was fabulous. We saw so many highlights in such a short period of time.

Our travel guide Nacho was brilliant and provide briefings for the day and suggestions of activities to do and arrange for entry tickets where required. He is the saving grace of the tour. The tour organisers use public transport and taxis wherever possible and this is fine but restricts access to field trips resulting in very few field trips to such as suburbs of Granada, Cordoba and the fabulous Plaza Espana in Sevilla (its free entry). Very few entries to attractions were included with the main exception being Alhambra. Welcoming and farewell dinners were not included.

South of Spain (Madrid-Granada-Cordoba-Sevilla and Barcelona)
I recently booked a 7-day tour through TourRadar, expecting a fully guided experience as advertised. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what was promised. This tour was essentially self-guided trip with only a coordinator providing general guidance on where to go, rather than a certified tour guide offering in-depth historical and cultural insights.
Key Issues & Misleading Information:
1. Self-Guided experience Not a Guided Tour – The description implied guided sightseeing, but all exploration was self-directed. If you’re looking to truly learn about the places you visit, you’ll need to book your own certified guide at each location.
2. Attractions Not Included – No entry tickets were covered. Every museum, monument, or historical site required separate bookings, often well in advance. This should have been clearly stated upfront.
3. Public Transportation Only – A Major Inconvenience – The tour exclusively relied on public transportation, which meant hauling luggage through busy city centers, navigating crowded buses and metro stations, and constantly chasing schedules. This added unnecessary stress, especially when transferring between cities. This should have been made absolutely clear upfront so travelers could properly prepare
4. Limited Communication with the local Tour Operator – Since TourRadar is a third-party vendor, direct communication with the actual tour operator was minimal. Getting details or assistance before trip was frustrating making it almost impossible to book any activities in advance. Unfortunately this resulted in missing opportunities to be able to secure entrance to many museums, historical places and monuments. We learned it is best to reserve any visits at least 2-4 weeks in advance. Furthermore- the one activity I wanted the most and booked on my own The Alhambra entrance tickets were forfeited due to a late arrival to City of Granada, an additional $390 that I lost due to poor communication thru TourRadar as a third party vendor.
5. Lodging & Meals Were Minimal – The only meal included was breakfast, and the quality of the food was poor. Adding additional meals or food expenses quickly added up.
Last - Lodging in hotels included for the price of the tour were 2-3 stars.
Final Thoughts & Advice
If you’re comfortable navigating a trip almost entirely on your own, and willing to pay over $3500 as a couple for a trip advertised as a “tour”this might work for you. However, if you expect an organized guided experience, this is not the right tour. The listing should clearly disclose that:
• This is a self-guided experience, with a local a coordinator/babysitter NOT A TOUR WITHtour with a certified tour guide.
• Sightseeing is not included, and reservations must be made in advance (some places require a reservation of 1 month in advance). If TourRadar would have facilitated the contact information of the tour coordinator prior to our arrival, we could have secured entrances to iconic places in each city we visited. (Keep in mind you have to pay out pocket for each entrance- it is not included in the total fee of the tour).
I would not recommend this tour for travelers expecting a structured experience with included site visits and professional guides. Transparency in advertising is essential, and this tour fell short of expectations.
If you want to save a few thousand dollars, you can plan your trip to Spain on your own, book your own lodging, use public transportation, purchased tickets in advance to the local attractions in each city, and be in control of your schedule.
Extremely disappointing to have booked via TourRadar.

The small group size of 8 really helped to gel the group.

I was left sick and stranded on the Southern Spain Tour. I am a 72-year-old senior who speaks little or no Spanish. I've traveled with the group several times in the past. This trip was unusual because I had three leaders over two weeks. I came down with a virus in Seville. It was my bad luck to get sick and have a leadership change during this period. I had to stay in the hotel until I recovered. My wife and other tour members went on to Barcelona. I contacted all three tour leaders and the 24-hour hotline. I got no text, phone call, or assistance from either. I was left to my own devices to make it to Barcelona. I tried to report this when I got it. I tried to get through to everyone. I suspect you will have a good experience with this company if you stay healthy and avoid injuries.

A well put together tour led by an excellent guide. A great way to see the highlights of Southern Spain in a short period of time but with sufficient time to explore by yourself. Highly recommended.

Hi Dwayne
Thanks so much for the five stars. We are glad that you had such a great trip. We hope to see you on another G Adventure soon.
This was an amazing tour and exactly what we were looking for. The balance of free time and planned activities was what we found to be most appealing. The ease of having all accommodations and travel between cities taken care of was spectacular. Our guide, Magda, was stellar! She went above and beyond every single day, and we could not have asked for a better experience with her.

Hotels had dead cockroaches lying around, guide was sweet but not experienced at creating a cohesive group feel. On top of which, the credit that GAdventures gave me to compensate for the mediocrity of the trip expired in 6 months - even the airlines give you a year! And some trips have no option to have a private room (yes, I';m willing to pay extra for that).

I enjoyed visiting Southern Spain. My favourite places I visited on the trip were Seville, and Granada. I enjoyed the times when the group went out for meals together as it gave us a chance to get to know each other, and engage. I thought the variety of places we visited were excellent, as it provided me with knowledge and insight about the areas we visited. The transport was OK. I did find that by only really staying for 1 full day in a location felt that some parts of the trip were a bit rushed.
