What people love about Spain Tours in November
- Discovery of Spain - 10 daysThis tour did everything I wanted it to do: it was inexpensive; it handled transportation and accommodations; it handled tickets to major attractions (Goya painting in Toledo, Grand Mosque in Cordoba, and Alhambra in Granada). The premium package was worth it for the extra meals, camaraderie with other travelers, the flamenco show, river cruise, Toledo tour and Spanish Village on Montjuic. I think the tour descriptions are a perk, but there was not much storytelling, just quick facts. I thought the tour was in English not bilingual. I don't have any problem with other language speakers, but it took twice as long to hear anything. And the poor tour guides were hacked out. They put us into separate groups when they could, and that was great. But wow, it is hard to ask the bilingual guides anything as they are constantly translating. Also, the provided meals in the premium package got pretty redundant. Maybe that is a feature of Spanish cuisine. Salt seems to be the primary seasoning in everything. It got heavy after a while. I had a hard time accommodating my non-carb diet to the limited offerings. One of the hotel dinners was terrible, frozen chicken patty reheated on a plate with unflavored veggies--it was like a flavorless tv dinner. Then we stopped at truck stops 4 times on travel days. How hard would it be to pull into one of the many pretty little towns for lunch and offer a bit more beauty and food variety? With the least expensive hotel, we slept far from the centers of towns. It took longer to take transportation when exploring on our own. I think I would pay more to get situated closer to the action for the amount of time we had. It was an economic tour, but I guess you get what you pay for.
- Classical SpainAna Teixido from europamundo was very kind and helpful in any way she can. She exceeded our expectation. Such amazing tour guide. Nacho is kind a lost in some ways and needs to focus on his job. Maybe He has a lot of things on his mind but overall, he is ok. Pedro our last guide in barcelona was very patient and helpful. He guides us in the best way he can. The tour itself is well organized though if you are an old lady and quite weak in following directions you may get lost.. Some tours will leave you on your own like in Madrid going to Plaza Mayor there is no transfer going back to the hotel. One more thing, our driver who supposed to fetch us from Madrid train station was late. It was raining and instead of meeting us on the said location he let us run in the rain to ride in the bus. It was very inconvenient for us. Anyway, Europamundo bus is nice. I will still recommend this tour. It was a memorable one though there's still room for improvement.
- Madrid and BarcelonaOur guide Manuel ‘Manu’ Martin was excellent. He took care of our group really well, asking all of us about our experience and keeping us informed about next steps. He was very warm and welcoming. The tour from Madrid to Barcelona was excellent, including the stops on the way from Madrid to Barcelona. The journey wasn’t very long, he kept us informed about what’s coming up. The rack train in Montessarat and the views were spectacular. Overall it was an amazing trip, worth the money. The only suggestion is that on the evening of Day 2 in Madrid the tour should take us to a different place for free time and not to the same place visited the day before. The elevators at hotel praga was awful, out of the three, 1 was working and was always full, 1 was out of service and the third one only had space for a maximum of 4 people with no bags.
