What people love about Spain Tours in February
- Discovery of Spain - 10 days
We enjoyed meeting the people; however, at times, there were 20-25 more people than the 40 promised. This made transportation, translations, movement much more difficult. We were under the impression the tour would be in English although the tour guides were personable, polite, and knowledgeable, their translations in English were difficult to hear due to the vast majority non English speakers’ conversations, the 6 of us English speaking participants could rarely hear the guide’s translations. The worst part of the tour were the lunches at the truck stops, yuck! We so much enjoyed the sights, the guides, and the many new friends we made.
- Charming Spain - 9 Days
excellent tour, only I was not aware that it consisted of primarily spanish speaking people. Luckily I am portuguese and so was the tour guide or needless to say it wouldn't have been very satisfying. I was also not aware I was on the economy standard so I was left alone at the last hotel, having all my new acquaintances at a hotel 20 minute car distance away. The sites were marvelous as was the food. The weather was disappointing as it rained all week but no one to blame.
- Andalucia & Toledo, 5 days on Tuesdays
The tour was well organized and provided a great overview of the key Andalusian highlights. The hotels were very nice (except two days without hot water) and the bus was immaculate and very comfortable. The tour guide was a bit inexperienced (not being from Spain) and her limited English skills sometimes caused confusion and misunderstandings. However, the scenery was gorgeous and Spain was very welcoming.
What our customers ask about Spain Tours in February 2026
What are the best places to visit in Spain during February?
Spain's Andalusia region offers excellent conditions for exploring in February with fewer tourists and pleasant temperatures. Cities like Seville Granada and Cordoba are easy to navigate during this quieter season. The Alhambra Palace in Granada shows a different side in winter light while Seville's Plaza de España is peaceful enough for uninterrupted photos. Quality accommodations like the Abades Nevada Palace in Granada and the Silken Al-Andalus Palace in Seville offer good winter rates. As shared by a TourRadar traveler: "Visiting the Alhambra in February meant comfortable temperatures for walking and exploring plus the bonus of smaller crowds at major attractions."
Are there any special festivals or events in Spain during February?
February brings several local celebrations across Spain. The Carnival of Cadiz runs February 15-25 filling streets with music parades and colorful costumes. Madrid's Gastrofestival showcases the city's food scene while Barcelona celebrates the Santa Eulàlia Festival featuring traditional Catalan dancing and human towers in the Gothic Quarter. These events give visitors a chance to experience local culture up close. A TourRadar traveler mentioned: "The energy during Carnival in Cadiz was incredible - the whole city comes alive with music and celebrations."
How crowded are major tourist attractions in Spain during February?
February's low season means visitors can explore major sites without the usual crowds. Wait times drop significantly at popular attractions like Barcelona's Sagrada Familia Madrid's Prado Museum and Granada's Alhambra. Hotels such as the Catalonia Santa Justa in Seville and Hotel Alameda Palace reduce their rates during this period. One TourRadar traveler noted: "We barely had to wait to enter the major museums and palaces which made February an excellent time to really appreciate Spain's cultural treasures."
What indoor activities are recommended in Spain during February?
The cooler February weather creates good conditions for exploring Spain's rich indoor cultural sites. The Prado Museum in Madrid offers shelter from winter weather while Cordoba's Mezquita provides architectural interest. Evening entertainment includes authentic flamenco shows in Seville especially near hotels like the Catalonia Giralda. A TourRadar traveler recommended: "We spent fascinating hours in the Mezquita-Cathedral of Cordoba and enjoyed amazing flamenco performances in Seville's intimate venues."
What dining experiences are available in Spain during February?
Winter brings out Spain's heartier dishes. Madrid serves warming cocido madrileño while Barcelona specializes in seasonal calçots. Local food tours take small groups through Seville's tapas scene and Valencia offers hands-on paella classes. Restaurant reservations are easier to secure and dining rooms are less crowded creating a more relaxed atmosphere. One reviewer particularly enjoyed "the intimate dinner experiences at local restaurants without tourist crowds."
What should I pack for Spain in February?
February weather in Spain calls for versatile clothing choices. Madrid's temperatures range from 5-12°C requiring warm sweaters and a waterproof jacket. Southern Spain stays milder with Andalusia reaching 18°C during sunny days. Coastal stays at places like the Sol Principe in Torremolinos need light jackets for evening walks. A TourRadar traveler shared: "February weather varied significantly between Madrid and Seville - layers were essential for comfort throughout the day."
