What people love about Asia Tours in August
- Southeast Asia Discovery: Seasides and Street FoodI had the most incredible time on this tour and would recommend it to anyone. It helped that I had an amazing CEO Bopha, who was just fabulous with organising/information/knowledge/personality. He always started every day with a smile, and truly made the trip for our entire group. The tour is one of their yolo tours which is the more basic tour and targeted towards younger adults. Which was perfect for me, I am used to a very basic style of traveling and this felt like an upgrade! The accomodations were pleasant and nice, and we only stayed in two hostels, the rest were 3 star hotels. We had four overnight trains which again were all quite standard for trains in Asia, and pleasant with a bed to sleep on. The itinerary was action packed with something new each day. You have to be prepared for travel and bus days, as South East Asia is quite widespread. However our CEO made sure no day was a waste, if we were travelling we would always have stops along the way where we would be shown local ways of life. (E.g. locals making rice along the road, local food markets where we tried tarantula and crickets). And when we got to each destination we would make the most of it as possible. Optionals do cost and some of them can be a little bit expensive. However you simply have to budget for it! Prices do vary slightly to what G-Adventures quotes, however our CEO was full of good recommendations or optionals to organise for us. I found myself doing many optionals I hadn’t planned to do, as they all sounded too go to pass up. You have to make the most of it when travelling through Asia! G-Adventures has their planeterra project where they support and give back to the local communities where they visit. So we attended two G-Adventures planeterra sites which was great to see! Nice to know the company really cares for the areas it visits and gives back to the community. I also felt like our CEO helped us give back to the community in lots of additional ways and it felt very culturally immersive! We visited the locals and would give the children fruit or books, makes you appreciate what these communities go through and how it differs from western life. I had an amazing time on this tour and it was all thanks to my amazing CEO Bopha. Would truly recommend this company and tour to anyone wishing to cover lots of ground in South East Asia with 30 days.
- 5 Stans and CaucasusHighly recommend, no complains. Well done. Thank you.
- Treasures of Southeast Asia In 11 Days (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand)Very interesting! We enjoyed.
What our customers ask about Asia Tours in August 2026
- What special festivals or events happen in Asia during August?- Southeast Asia comes alive with cultural celebrations during August. In Vietnam the Ghost Festival (Vu Lan) fills temples and streets with ceremonies in mid-August. Bangkok celebrates the Queen Mother's birthday on August 12th with events centered around the Amari Watergate area. In Hoi An visitors can join the monthly Full Moon Lantern Festival where locals and tourists gather to release glowing lanterns onto the Thu Bon River. A TourRadar review notes: "The festival atmosphere in Hoi An was magical with all the lanterns lit up."
- What are the best places to visit in Asia during August?- Northern Vietnam offers pleasant conditions for exploring Halong Old Quarter while central Vietnam's Hoi An provides a mix of culture and beaches. Thailand's northern city of Chiang Mai stays relatively mild. Beach destinations like Nha Trang in Vietnam and Thailand's eastern islands have good swimming conditions. Cambodia's Angkor Wat temples are best explored during early morning hours before peak heat. The Jade Emperor Pagoda in Saigon provides a cool sanctuary for afternoon visits.
- Are accommodations in Asia typically air-conditioned in August?- Most hotels on Southeast Asian tour itineraries provide air conditioning during the warm August season. Properties like the Apricot Hotel in Hanoi and Angkor Miracle in Siem Reap feature modern climate control systems in all rooms. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The hotels were very comfortable with excellent air conditioning which was essential during the hot August weather."
- What are the best beaches to visit in Southeast Asia during August?- The eastern Gulf coast of Thailand including Koh Samui and Phuket sees less rainfall than other regions during August. The Thavorn Beach Village Resort in Phuket provides direct access to calm swimming conditions. Beaches near Cambodia's Koh Rong can have rougher seas this time of year. According to a TourRadar review: "The east coast Thai beaches were perfect in August - not too crowded and still plenty of sun."
- What is the availability and pricing like for August tours in Asia?- August marks peak season with higher prices and limited availability on popular routes. Tours like "Essential Vietnam & Cambodia" often book up 3-4 months ahead. Early reservation discounts help offset premium rates. Central Asian itineraries such as the "Multi-Stan Adventure" tend to have more open spots and competitive pricing even during high season.
- What is the weather like in Asia during August?- Southeast Asia experiences temperatures between 85-95°F with high humidity. Central Asia enjoys milder conditions around 75-85°F with low humidity. Halong Bay tends to be very humid while Thailand sees periodic afternoon showers. Kazakhstan's climate suits outdoor activities like hiking in the Tian Shan range. Urban hotels like Tokyo's Pearl Hotel Shinjuku provide relief from the summer heat and humidity during this peak travel period.
