My husband and I opted for the private tour option which included an upgrade to 5 star hotels and we were so glad we did because every hotel we stayed in was fantastic - excellent breakfasts included for every day, leaving us full for the day of exploring. Communication with Prestigo through Whatsapp and Tourradar was consistently fantastic, with the average response time on Whatsapp being about two minutes! Our private tour guides were outstanding in every location - very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Drivers and transfers were well organised too. We travelled in April which has incredibly hot weather and our local guides adapted each day to cater to the heat, getting us out early and to lunch when it was at the hottest point, providing us with water, fans and umbrellas for the rain. Would recommend to anyone wanting to experience the highlights of Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Lao. All of our countries except Vietnam were small mostly private tours and met almost all our expectations. Vietnam was almost entirely large buses which would all stop at the same sites where it was extremely crowded and it was not the best experience. Certain parts of Vietnam like halong Bay were amazing but other aspects like the bike ride among rice paddies turned out to be broken bikes on a very busy road. Asked on June 15th, 2025I'm looking at potentially booking this tour. However, I have some food allergies that I'm wondering about accommodation. I can't have gluten/wheat or shellfish. Regular fish is fine, just nothing in a shell. Can both of these be accommodated? How easy is it to avoid gluten/wheat? I've heard it can be difficult with the language barrier.

You have a daily breakfast at your accommodation and there are so many selections to avoid the gluten/wheat. ( My recommendation, you consider upgrade the accommodation to 4* or 5* to get more option on food) For gluten/wheat, we understand it can be more challenging, especially in countries where gluten-free awareness is still developing. However, with advance notice like yours, we're able to make special arrangements to avoid gluten-containing items. You'll also have a guide who can help communicate your needs in the local language during meals.

If you can't select the upgraded accommodation, it automatically selects the 3* hotel. You can get the 4* or 5* hotel by choosing the upgrade when you book it.

If you would like to upgrade to 4* accommodation, there is an Extra 420 USD per person, and if you would like to upgrade to 5* accommodation, there is an Extra 880 USD per person. It's possible to upgrade the individual cities instead of all the accommodations. If you would like to upgrade it, please let me know which place you want. I'll give you the rate.
The Chiang Mai Extension is 368 USD per person. If you do Chiang Mai Extension, you'll have the days in Laos, the total of this trip will be 18 days instead of 15 days.
