Itinerary
- Day 1
Darwin
You'll land in Darwin and have the afternoon to yourself. The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory is worth checking out if you want some air conditioning and cultural context, or there's the Darwin City Lagoon if you'd rather cool off with a swim. At 6 pm everyone gathers for a welcome meeting, then you'll head to dinner with the group at a local restaurant to get to know your fellow travelers.

Darwin to Litchfield National Park
Early start into Litchfield National Park where the landscape shifts to massive sandstone plateau. You'll walk the short loop at Wangi Falls and can swim in the natural pool if you like. From there it's on to Tolmer Falls and Florence Falls, then a picnic lunch set up by a bubbling creek in the monsoon forest. Before heading back to Darwin, you'll stop at the Magnetic Termite Mounds which look quite distinctive from the surrounding bush.

- Day 3
Darwin to Kakadu National Park
Today heads toward Kakadu National Park, a substantial drive covering the wider region. First stop is Mamukala Wetlands to spot wetland birds, then up to Ubirr where you'll explore rock art and get historical context about First Nations culture from your guide. The afternoon brings a cruise up the East Alligator River with an Aboriginal guide who'll explain the cultural and wildlife significance of this UNESCO World Heritage area. You'll settle into your Kakadu accommodation and join everyone for dinner.

Kakadu National Park to Darwin
Your final morning takes you to Jim Jim Creek cultural arts centre where there's an option to join a cultural weaving class and learn why weaving matters in local tradition. After lunch, you'll drive to Burrungkuy, a UNESCO World Heritage rock art site created by the Bininj people. There are several short walks offering different views of the wildlife and art around the site. Then it's the drive back to Darwin with your adventure wrapping up around 5:30 pm.
