What people love about Hawaii Tours
- Hawai'i Big Island: Environmental Conservation, Cultural Preservation, and Snorkeling

- Best of the Hawaiian Islands
My review is better than good but not quite excellent. Our tour director Pam was very good about disseminating information to our group, getting us where and when we needed to be, and sharing local knowledge about the areas we visited. She made everything flow smoothly. One of the hotels left a little to be desired, but for 3 days was bearable. The travel between islands was a little tedious, but all in all bearable. I am happy that we did this trip. The Hawaii'n Islands are unique and beautiful and we were given a taste of what life is like there. We'll just have to visit again. Thank you Pam, and Globus.
Travel Hawaii your way
Our most visited 8-day tours take you across three different Hawaiian islands, and travelers really like how we mix guided activities with time to explore on their own. You'll swim with manta rays near Kona and visit bio-dynamic farms to learn about Hawaii's farming heritage. Our customers tell us they love seeing both the main attractions and quiet spots most tourists miss - from Pearl Harbor's memorials to peaceful black sand beaches where sea turtles rest in the sun. The Maui portion is particularly special; you can watch humpback whales jump at sunset and join local farmers at 3,000 feet up for meals cooked in traditional brick ovens.
Select from our extensive range of 45 fully guided tours to enjoy a worry-free experience through Hawaii with our expert guides leading the way.
Explore a wide diversity of partially guided tours through Hawaii. We have 18 adventures that vary from 5 days to 14 days. With the greatest number of departures in May, this is also the most popular time of the year.
Best tour companies for Hawaii tours
Looking at these reviews, Trafalgar has gotten a real mix of feedback from our travelers. While some folks loved guides like Michael M. and thought the itineraries were solid, others weren't so happy with their experience - mainly due to some mix-ups with information and hotels that didn't quite meet expectations. Bamba Experience had its own ups and downs too. The activities they offer are pretty varied - you can go snorkeling in the clear waters, bike around the islands and check out cultural spots like Diamond Head. But some travelers mentioned they had trouble with how things were organized. You'll want to pack some patience and flexibility when touring Hawaii since plans sometimes need adjusting. That said, the islands really deliver with their volcanic landscapes, deep cultural roots and living Polynesian traditions. Our travelers consistently talk about how the natural beauty and local culture make even the occasional hiccup worth it. The nice thing about Hawaii tours is that most guides are local and really know their stuff - they'll share stories about the islands that you won't find in guidebooks. Whether you're checking out ancient temples or learning about modern island life, you're getting authentic perspectives from people who call this place home.

Best places to start your Hawaii tour
Honolulu is naturally the main jumping-off point with 30 tours starting there, while Waikiki, Los Angeles, Kailua Kona and also Oahu fill out the top departure spots. Our booking patterns show it's smart to lock things in about 109 days ahead - that's roughly 3.5 months before you want to travel. This becomes extra important during busy seasons or when you're after specific experiences like luaus or snorkel trips. It's worth having a good chat with us about hotels and daily schedules, since our travelers occasionally mention different hotel experiences and sometimes get mixed signals about tour details. May and October hit that sweet spot - you'll find better deals and fewer people but still get that lovely Hawaiian weather. Our repeat visitors often suggest starting with a full island tour to get your bearings, then diving into specific activities like nighttime manta ray snorkeling or local farm visits that really connect you with Hawaiian culture.

You'll have your own guide who adjusts everything to match what interests you most. Popular combinations mix morning snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, afternoon visits to the Valley of the Temples and sunset sailing off Waikiki Beach. Our travelers tell us they love being able to change plans on the fly - maybe spending extra time capturing photos at the Halona Blowhole or taking a whole day to explore the North Shore's secret beaches and also its local food truck spots.
Top Hawaii travel itineraries to fit your plans

When you join our week-long Hawaiian tours, you'll experience the best of Oahu, Maui and also the Big Island. Landing in Honolulu, you're welcomed with a traditional lei before diving into Pearl Harbor's rich history at the USS Arizona Memorial. Maui brings you face-to-face with the 1,200-foot Iao Needle rising from the lush Iao Valley - a place that holds deep spiritual meaning for Hawaiians. We've added meaningful touches like helping plant native trees in a Hawaiian Legacy Forest and visiting one of the few remaining pineapple farms where you'll taste the incredibly sweet Maui Gold pineapples. Your evenings mix traditional luaus complete with fire dancers and also free time to explore local dining spots.

Our 10-day trips give you that extra breathing room to really get to know the islands. After exploring Oahu's key sites, you'll fly to the Big Island where local coffee experts share fascinating stories about Kona's plantation heritage. Our travelers love how these tours balance structured activities, like exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, with free afternoons to do their own thing. A recent guest told us how much they valued their guide's deep knowledge of Hawaiian culture, especially during visits to the Maui Ocean Center and also the Gunstock Ranch.

Two full weeks lets us really dig deep into four islands, mixing cultural experiences with active exploration. The schedule takes you from kayaking at Kailua Beach to sailing as the sun sets on Waikiki and hiking Kauai's impressive Waimea Canyon trails. What makes this longer trip special is visiting those hidden spots - like the rare black and green sand beaches along Hawaii's southern shore. Our guests particularly enjoy the variety each day brings - learning traditional outrigger canoe surfing one day, exploring ancient Hawaiian temples along the Kohala Coast and also heading into Polulu Valley's untamed landscape the next.
Demographics
Our couples tours run for 8 days across multiple Hawaiian islands, mixing quiet moments together with island exploration. You'll catch sunsets from Maui's Whalers Village and enjoy traditional Hawaiian dinners with ocean views right from Waikiki Beach. The daily flow works really well - active mornings lead into laid-back afternoons, like when you explore Hawaii Volcanoes National Park before watching manta rays glide past during a night snorkel. Most couples love heading up to O'o Farm at 3,000 feet elevation, where local farmers cook amazing meals in traditional brick ovens. The two-person activities hit just right - think intimate luaus, sunset sailing and also personal tours through Kona's coffee country.
The young adult tours run 7-10 days and they're properly active - you'll be in the water, on the trails and always moving. The downhill bike rides above Waikiki give you full views of Honolulu and Manoa Valley, while the water sessions get you up close with the reef life. These tours work because they mix it up nicely - morning hikes up Diamond Head flow into beach time, and evening luaus combine old traditions with modern island entertainment. When you hit the Kona coast, you're kayaking with sea turtles, checking out lava tubes and also getting in the water at night to see manta rays feed right beside you.
Senior tours run a bit longer at 8-13 days, focusing on culture and comfort as you explore the islands. You'll start with proper lei greetings, take guided tours through Pearl Harbor and walk Honolulu's historic streets at an easy pace. The schedule really works for our older travelers - morning visits to places like Iolani Palace pair with free afternoons to relax poolside. Over on the Big Island, you'll take comfortable walks in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, visit local coffee estates and also drive the scenic coast to find black sand beaches. Our guides make the difference here, sharing real knowledge about Hawaiian history, culture and also explaining natural wonders like the active volcanoes.

Best time to visit Hawaii
- Fall / Autumn 2025
The autumn Hawaii tours run 8-10 days across three islands, hitting an ideal window when crowds naturally thin out. October draws visitors who want to blend active exploration with authentic cultural experiences. Starting at Pearl Harbor and traditional farming sites, you'll make your way to O'o Farm, perched at 3,000 feet elevation, where local farmers prepare meals in brick ovens using ancestral methods. Marine life viewing peaks during this season - our travelers consistently highlight their night snorkel with manta rays off Kona and close encounters with green sea turtles in transparent waters. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park feels more welcoming in autumn's gentler climate, while Maui offers intimate experiences like bio-dynamic farm tours, sunset whale watching and also cultural immersion. The itinerary weaves in meaningful activities like planting native trees in Legacy Forests alongside evening luaus at the Polynesian Cultural Center, which our guests note have a more relaxed atmosphere during this quieter season.
- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter is a fantastic time to explore Hawaii, with mild temperatures that make activities really comfortable. Our 5-day family tours take you through Pearl Harbor's history and downtown Honolulu, plus you can hop aboard the Waikiki submarine adventure - it's quite something when you're 100 feet down watching green sea turtles, reef sharks and colorful fish swim past your window. The Star of Honolulu dinner cruise is a highlight for many of our guests; you get to watch the sun drop into the ocean while trying local dishes that really capture Hawaii's flavors. When we take you around the island, you'll spend time in authentic villages at the Polynesian Cultural Center, relax on beaches and also explore Oahu's North Shore with our local guides. For active travelers, we head up Diamond Head early morning before it gets warm, take scenic coastal bike rides and spend afternoons snorkeling at Hanauma Bay where the marine life is incredible.

Our Hawaii spring tours weave together cultural discoveries and outdoor activities across the islands, perfect in the mild weather. Island-hopping adventures span 8 days through Oahu, Maui and the Big Island, where customers often highlight the manta ray swims near Kona, and visiting bio-dynamic farms perched at 3,000 feet. The extended 13-day journeys let you explore four islands in depth, combining morning Pearl Harbor visits and afternoon snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. Nature lovers tend to focus on tours featuring walks in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, coastal paths to black sand beaches and also spots where sea turtles bask in the sun. Spring visitors frequently choose itineraries that blend traditional luaus at the Polynesian Cultural Center, private sunset cruises off Waikiki and intimate dining at historic plantation estates. - Summer 2026
Hawaii's multi-island summer packages are especially popular with travelers during peak season. The 8-day explorations blend guided experiences with independent discovery time, where you'll swim with manta rays near Kona, visit bio-dynamic farms at 3,000 feet elevation and also join traditional feasts prepared in brick ovens. Our longer journeys of 10-13 days give you that extra breathing room to uncover hidden spots, with our guests often mentioning how much they appreciate having both structured activities and free time to explore. Pearl Harbor visits in the morning transition smoothly into beach afternoons, while Big Island tours take you through coffee plantations, black sand beaches and, of course, guided walks in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Summer is perfect for mixing water and land activities - picture yourself snorkeling at Molokini crater among thousands of tropical fish in the morning, then sailing off Waikiki Beach as the sun sets. Our travelers consistently highlight how the guides share deep cultural insights, particularly during visits to ancient Hawaiian temples along the Kohala Coast and also traditional villages.

You'll find the Big Island really lives up to its name with everything from active volcanoes to black sand beaches and these amazing rainforests. It's incredible - you can hike through Volcano National Park one day then go snorkeling along the Kona coast the next or take this amazing sunset jeep ride up to Mauna Kea's summit. Over on Oahu which is where you'll find Honolulu you get this perfect mix of history at Pearl Harbor and natural wonders like Diamond Head. If you're looking for a guided experience the Hawaiian Explorer tour runs 8 days and takes you through all the highlights from Volcano National Park to coffee plantations on the Big Island ending with this gorgeous sunset cruise in Maui.
Where are the best natural areas away from the cities?
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island is just incredible with all these craters vents and lava tubes covered in tree ferns - you really want to explore it with a guide to get the full experience. Then there's Waimea Canyon State Park on Kauai which they call the Grand Canyon of the Pacific and wow does it live up to that name. You can access these amazing viewpoints by hiking or taking scenic drives. Both these spots are featured in the Hawaii Four Island Adventure tour and they're absolute must-sees.
What about those hidden routes locals know about?
The Road to Hana on Maui is this incredible winding coastal drive where you'll find hidden waterfalls rainforests and secluded beaches. It's a bit challenging to navigate but our travelers always say the views and photo ops make it totally worth it. Over on the Big Island there's the Saddle Road running between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa - it's less crowded but gives you this amazing look at Hawaii's volcanic landscape with views that'll take your breath away. The Hawaiian Explorer tour showcases why the Road to Hana is so special while the Pacific Dream Islands hiking tour takes you along that amazing Saddle Road route.
