- MKMarilyn· June 17th, 2024We used Tourradar to search for tours to Hokkaido geared for Seniors and found Supera Tours. Although their tour was not specifically geared for Seniors, it was very well organized, planned out with activities and itinerary balanced and not overly packed or scheduled. Their prep and planning team did an excellent job in coordinating the lodging, food and travel/transportation time. Everything far exceeded our expectations and went so smoothly! Lodging were all 5***** (Onsens every night and even our own private one)!!! Meals were wonderful gastronomic delights ranging from Michelin Star, traditional and nouvelle Kaiseki, area restaurant specialties to the Fish Market in Kushiro. And our tour guide, Hui, was so very diligent, considerate and patient! She checked with each and every tour member after room check-in to make sure we were all comfortable and had everything we needed. We were especially grateful for her thoughtfulness since we were "seniors with needs"and had things prepared ahead of time. We felt well taken care of and this was truly an enjoyable and stress free vacation!! My husband and I were the only "first timers" with Supera on this tour. All the others were repeat guests. We provide complementary travel insurance in the land-tour price. Our Supera provided travel insurance offers $50,000 emergency medical (secondary to your own medical insurance coverage) and $250,000 emergency evacuation. You will be covered by both of these automatically when you join us on one of our tours. Kindly note, our complementary travel insurance does not cover trip-cancellation and trip-interruptions. We recommend our guests purchase additional comprehensive travel insurance to cover any cancellations.

The very minimum age is 2 for the comfort of our guests, and we have no age limit. Our tours are paced leisurely, and our Japan tours, unlike our more adventurous tours to Tibet and Everest Base Camp, are relaxed. The age ranges on this specific tour are from guests in their late 70's and as young as about 22 with the average being in their mid-60's.

We will be happy to let you know as soon as we have confirmed details, hopefully in the next few weeks. Island of Hokkaido - Spring Depart U.S 05/17/2023 - Tour Ends 05/25/2023. We include free time after check-in on Day 7 to further enjoy the Lake Akan area. Guests can explore the culture and handicrafts of Hokkaido's Ainu indigenous community at Akan Ainu Village, a short walk away from our hotel. We will learn about Ainu history and culture throughout the duration of the tour. However, we do not have any immediate plans to visit Upopoy Museum at the moment.
