- Denyse· July 16th, 2025Great adventure experienceShow more
- Stephen· April 26th, 2025Aaron was very good guide. Stopping when needed for bathrooms. The distance between some locations is very far. The seat belts in the Safari Tour Truck were not to be used because they do not work. I buckeled up and then found the seat belt would NOT unbuckle. Ask the driver to cut the belt but he said no his safari truck would not pass inspection if he cut the belt. I should not have used it...... Do you have any idea what his means.... it is NOT Safety First, it is just get the people thourgh the system.Show more
- Stephen· July 19th, 2025I thoroughly enjoyed my first ever safari experience, and would definitely do another one. The whole organisation of the trip was excellent, and the tour ran very smoothly. From being collected at Walvis Bay airport, to being dropped off at Livingstone Airport, nothing was too much trouble for any of the drivers and guides. I think my only 'complaints' would be that arriving in Namibia is NOT cheap. Although a tourist holiday visa can be dealt with on arrival, it is expensive. I was charged N$1,600.00 for a seven day stay. At least crossing the border into Botswana, and then Zambia is cheaper. They just stamp your passport at immigration control! Also, at our first campsite at Spitzkoppe, although in the trip notes it says, 'guests can enjoy hot showers and there are shared bathroom facilities', where we pitched our tents, there were no hot showers or bathroom facilities. We had two long-drop toilets. At least, if you get out in the night, you can always enjoy the starry night sky and Milky Way! Fortunately, we were only there for one night! As for the safari drives themselves, they were all first rate, and I have many fantastic memories and hundreds of photos to look back on. Some off them were very early starts, (5am at Chobe for example!), but they were definitely worth it. From seeing the sun rise over the Chobe River, to driving close to a pride of dozing lionesses, and seeing elephants, giraffes, baboons and other herbivores at close quarters, was something I'll never forget. Also, the cruise on the Chobe River, was excellent, with very close views of buffalo on the bank sides, elephants, crocodiles, and a large herd of hippos, plus many different bird species. One of the main highlights at the start of the tour was spending a day and a half on game drives around Etosha National Park in Namibia. Again, fantastically close views of all manner of animals and birds, including a very obliging cheetah, who sat and posed on a tree branch for about half an hour, completely oblivious to all the tourists and their cameras! Finally, a big mention to our guide for the tour, Joe, and the ever reliable driver, Harmony. I would recommend both for any awards going. Joe was everything a tour leader should be. Extremely well organised, punctual and efficient, friendly and supportive, and a great cook, ably assisted by those who helped him! Harmony, as driver, was also brilliant. Given the lengths of some of the road trips we went on each day, he never lost his sense of humour, despite, presumably feeling very tired at times. Again, he was always on time in leaving and arriving at destinations, and was very good at assisting people in putting up, dismantling, and packing away their tents, and helping to store them in the truck. He was a very safe and competent driver, and made frequent stops for 'bushy-bushy', toilet breaks along the way! Both Joe & Harmony are a credit to Acacia Africa, and I hope they are used together on future safari tours.Show more

Asked on April 3rd, 2025Is the September 5th staring tour available? is that confirmed at this time? or not?? Risk?

Traveler•Written April 2025Is this still available for 1 person? It seems that this one is with camping. And you have the same tour with accommodation? What is the different? Are both tour still available for 1 female?
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written April 2025
With the camping option you would be spending 21 nights camping in 2-person dome tents, 2 nights in dorm accommodation in Swakopmund, and 1 night permanent tent in the Okavango Delta. With the accommodated option you would be staying in a mixture of accommodation such as 3 Star Hotel, Mid Range Lodge, Standard Lodge & Basic Lodge where all bedding is provided.
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written April 2025
The Sep 11 departure for Kruger, Falls, Delta & Cape is a guaranteed departure however, availability is limited. I would highly recommend you put a deposit down so that as soon as we know - we can secure your spot.

Asked on May 30th, 2024Am I right that you have exact same tour for south to north, and north to south? when would be the best season to enjoy whole route of this tour? As camping tour, do I need more than a sleeping bag? Anything else? what is the situation for accessing toilet or shower during this tour? does this tour normally become full? any preference for south route or north route?
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written May 2024
Yes, this is correct its the same itinerary. The dry season in the southern part of Africa lasts from April to October and is considered the best time for game viewing. Cooler temperatures and less humidity make for more comfortable safari drives and lower the risk of malaria. You just need a sleeping bag. There are toilets and showers in the campsite. Yes it is quite popular especially during peak season. No, this is dependant on the passenger and what works best for your flights.

Asked on October 13th, 2023Both around 80 years old. What is neede3d for the camping
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written October 2023
This is a participation tour and great for meeting like minded travelers, please keep in mind that our camping tours do attract a younger crowd but that does not at all exclude you from joining, just know that you will be with mostly 20-50 year olds. We also do require a tour suitability form to be filled out by anyone with pre-existing conditions or over the age of 65 for these tours. If you don't like the idea of setting up the campsites, we also offer an 'accommodated' version of this tour that runs along side the camping but you sleep in basic lodges instead.
