- Rachel· September 1st, 2023Timberwolf Hiking and Kayaking on Vancouver Island: This was a well-organised and enjoyable tour. We were a group of 9, mostly single travellers, of different nationalities and ages. Our tour guide worked very hard, with both practical tasks, such as driving and organising meals and equipment, and in making sure participants had a fun and safe time. The kayaking with camp on the remote island was brilliant. It wasn't a relaxing holiday but it was great to be outdoors and active and was a fantastic experience. Definitely recommended.Show moreTrip date: August 2023

Asked on August 1st, 2025I'm an experienced, intermediate level sea kayaker looking to join a guided 5-10 day trip in PNW at the end of August. Do you offer and trips or can you put me in contact with who might please?
- Timberwolf Tours Ltd.Operator•Written August 2025
While we don't offer multi-day kayak trips. Spirit of the West Adventures and West Coast Expeditions do offer exactly that, I've not worked with them but google aslo suggests North Island Kayak.

Asked on July 13th, 2023Will I need to cook meals myself during the tour? Is there any option to rent out sleeping bag and mattress? What is the average age of people coming to this trip?
- Timberwolf Tours Ltd.Operator•Written July 2023
Meals are not included, typically the group cooks together. The guide has a suggested menu and collects about $100/person to buy groceries collectively. We don't rent out sleeping bags or mats but we do have some left behind by other guests and I can send one along for you to use on the trip. There are currently 8 people on the August 20 departure. Ages vary. There is one couple and the rest are solo travelers, six from Germany and one from UK and one from Australia. The guide will speak German and English. Six women and two men make up the group.

Asked on May 16th, 2023Few questions: 1. I wanted to get more details about the food arrangements. Would it consist of sandwiches and small stuff like that or more warm meals? What are some examples of the food usually provided? 2. Will you be able to accommodate dietary restrictions? 3. Would we carry all of our stuff ourselves or would there be a place to leave it at times? 4. How cold is it on the Island usually in the beginning of June? What kind of clothes should I bring?
- Timberwolf Tours Ltd.Operator•Written May 2023
Meals are not included in this tour but the guide organizes the groceries and group cooking. Typically breakfast and dinner are warm meals and lunch is a packed lunch, sandwiches/fruit. Breakfast oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, bread, jam or someday eggs or pancakes. Dinner: salad, a carb like rice/pasta/potato and a protein meat can be replaced with /beans/tofu. The menu can easily be adjusted for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Camps are usually vehicle accessible so you don't have to carry your tent or luggage very far. For the one night kayaking to an island, what you need for one night will be taken to the island by boat and the rest of your gear will stay safely in the van. A website can give you temperature information. For the Kike and Kayak trip, check places like Victoria, Parksville and Tofino for the best estimates while on this trip.
