You'll reach Imlil village at 1740 m elevation and start your first walk with an easy trek along the hillside. You'll pass Sidi Chamarouch, a pilgrimage site where only Muslims can enter the shrine. Snow appears as you climb higher through the valley's switchbacks, and your leader will help fit crampons if needed. Reach Toubkal Base Camp at Neltner (3207 m) and have dinner before resting up for the summit push tomorrow.

The slope gets steeper toward the col where winds often pick up, so bring your hard shell jacket. Keep climbing through the final section, likely with sunrise on your right. At 4167 m, you're standing on North Africa's roof. On clear days you can see across the entire Atlas range, the Atlantic coast to the west, and the Sahara to the east. After time at the top, head back down to Base Camp.
