Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi
You'll arrive in Nairobi and check into your hotel. Mid-afternoon check-in gives you time to settle in, freshen up, and get oriented before dinner.
- Day 2
Nairobi
Start the morning at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage where you'll learn about conservation efforts and interact with orphaned calves. After lunch, head to the Karen Blixen Museum to see where the Out of Africa author lived and worked. By late afternoon, you'll move on to the Giraffe Center to hand-feed Rothschild's giraffes and learn about their habitat and protection.

Nairobi to Maasai Mara
You'll fly to Maasai Mara National Reserve and have lunch upon arrival. In the afternoon, your first game drive takes you into Kenya's most famous wildlife area. Your driver and guide will help you search for the Big 5 lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and Cape buffalo.

- Day 4
Maasai Mara
This full day in the Mara means morning and afternoon game drives with your expert driver and guide. The park sits within the Serengeti ecosystem and hosts large permanent populations of wildlife. During migration season, nearly 2 million wildebeest and zebra move through, attracting major predators. Between drives, relax by the pool or take a siesta back at your lodge.

Maasai Mara to Amboseli
A short flight brings you back to Nairobi, then you'll drive to Amboseli National Park. After arriving and checking in, you'll go on an afternoon game drive with views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. You'll have time to freshen up before dinner.

Amboseli

Amboseli to Lake Manyara
You'll cross into Tanzania at the Namanga border and drive through to Arusha for lunch. From there, you'll head toward Lake Manyara National Park, arriving by late afternoon.

Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro
Your morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park takes you through groundwater forests and grassy plains. You'll see the world's largest concentration of baboons, plus giraffes, hippos, and other wildlife. After that, you'll drive to your lodge on the slopes of Ngorongoro Crater. If you're interested, an optional visit to a local primary school lets you meet children and learn about rural Tanzanian education.

- Day 9
Ngorongoro Crater
You'll spend the full day on a game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest unflooded caldera. The crater floor covers over 102 square miles and sits more than 2,000 feet below the rim. Most animals stay year-round here, so you'll likely spot lions, elephants, and flamingos. This is your best opportunity to see the rare black rhinoceros. A picnic lunch will be served inside the crater.

Ngorongoro to Serengeti
You'll drive to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania's largest park. Known for the annual Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra, it offers fantastic game viewing throughout the year. After lunch at your lodge, you'll head out for an afternoon game drive to start exploring.

Serengeti
The Serengeti stretches across roughly 5,700 square miles of what the Maasai call siringit, meaning endless plains. Morning and afternoon game drives with your expert driver and guide take you in search of leopards, rhinos, cheetahs, giraffes, gazelles, and elands. Between drives, you can relax by the pool or rest at your lodge.

Serengeti to Arusha
