Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi
You'll arrive in Nairobi and check into your hotel in the mid-afternoon. This is your kickoff day for the small group safari adventure, so settle in and start getting oriented to the city. Your guide will brief you on what to expect over the coming days, and you'll have time to rest up before heading out into the parks tomorrow morning.

Nairobi
Your day starts early with a guided game drive through Nairobi National Park looking for wildlife. After that, you'll head to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where you can see orphaned elephant calves and learn about their conservation work. Grab lunch, then visit the Karen Blixen Museum to explore the author's life and work. In the afternoon, stop at the Giraffe Centre where you'll feed the endangered Rothschild giraffes. The evening is yours to explore the city on your own.

Nairobi to Ol Pejeta
You'll drive north from Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of East Africa's largest rhino sanctuaries. After settling in at Sweetwaters Serena Camp and having lunch, head out on your first game drive hunting for the Big 5. The day wraps up with a welcome barbeque dinner in the bush overlooking the Ewaso Ng'iro River, where you'll meet your fellow travelers and get details about the safari ahead.

Ol Pejeta
Wake up early for a morning game drive with Mount Kenya as your backdrop, scanning for the Big 5 plus cheetah, zebra, gazelle, and possibly wild dogs. You'll have downtime and lunch back at camp before visiting Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary to learn about their conservation program. An afternoon game drive follows, and dinner at camp ends your first full safari day.

Ol Pejeta to Lake Nakuru
You're leaving Ol Pejeta and driving through the Kenyan highlands, one of Africa's most productive farming regions. Stop at Nyahururu Falls for the views, then continue to Lake Nakuru National Park for an afternoon game drive. You'll see giraffe, impala, flamingo, striped hyena, and plenty of birds. The park also contains the largest euphorbia forest in Africa, which supports important bee populations and black rhino protection efforts.

Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara
Today you're heading to Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya's most famous game area and part of the larger Serengeti ecosystem. Depending on the season, you might encounter the Great Migration with nearly 2 million wildebeest and zebra arriving between August and early November. After lunch at your lodge, you'll head out on an afternoon game drive to start spotting wildlife.

Maasai Mara
Rise early and head out on a morning game drive that includes a special bush breakfast served right in the African wilderness. Return to camp to relax during the hottest part of the day, then join an afternoon game drive for more wildlife viewing.

Maasai Mara to Amboseli
After breakfast, you'll fly to Amboseli National Park where Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the horizon. The mountain, called 'Kili' locally, is Africa's highest peak. Following lunch at the lodge, head out on an afternoon game drive. The lodge offers guided nature walks, tree planting activities, cooking classes, language lessons, massage services, and a pool if you need a break.

You'll do morning and afternoon game drives in Amboseli with excellent chances to see elephants up close. Look for Cape buffalo, zebra, and wild dog as well. Visit a Maasai village to experience their traditional way of life and culture. As the day winds down, enjoy sundowner drinks with Mount Kilimanjaro as your backdrop before heading back to the lodge for dinner.

Amboseli to Arusha
You'll cross into Tanzania at the Namanga border and drive to Arusha. Have lunch there and then check into your lodge with the rest of the day free. Consider visiting a local village market to see daily life, or take a nature walk on the lodge grounds. The location sits on the rim of the Great Rift Valley escarpment with colorful villages and diverse landscapes all around.

Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro
A morning game drive takes you through Lake Manyara National Park, a small but ecologically diverse area with groundwater forests, open plains, and the alkaline lake itself. You'll see the world's largest concentration of baboons plus giraffe, hippo, and more. After a BBQ lunch, visit a local primary school in Karatu to meet children and see rural education firsthand. Then continue to your lodge on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater.

Ngorongoro Crater
You'll spend the full day exploring Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest unflooded caldera, on a game drive that takes you through diverse terrain. Black rhinos, lions, Cape buffalo, hippos, and elephants roam this protected area, and you'll have solid chances to see several of these species along with various bird species. Around midday, lunch arrives as a bush BBQ spread under Acacia trees right there in the crater, which is a nice break in the middle of your drive. After returning to the lodge in the late afternoon, dinner happens back at your accommodation, and then a traditional Maasai dance performance rounds out the evening with local cultural performances.

You're driving to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania's largest and most famous park covering roughly 5,700 square miles. The name means 'endless plains' in Maasai. Here you'll see big cats like lion, leopard, and cheetah, plus Nile crocodile, giraffe, gazelle, eland, and rare caracals. Grab lunch at your tented camp before an afternoon game drive to start exploring.

Serengeti
Two game drives fill your day in the Serengeti, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, giving you different lighting and animal activity patterns to work with. By evening, you'll head into the bush for a farewell dinner that wraps up your safari experience with a final celebration of the wildlife and landscapes you've encountered.
