Itinerary
- Day 1
Lima
After arriving at Lima airport, you'll get transferred to your hotel for check-in. Around 1:45 pm you head into Lima's historic old town to see what the city's all about. The Larco Museum comes first, housed in a restored vice regal mansion, followed by the Casa Aliaga colonial home. From there, you'll walk through the Main Square, check out Lima's Cathedral, and wander around the colonial downtown before heading back to your hotel by 6:30 pm.

Lima to Cusco
After breakfast, you'll transfer to Lima airport for your domestic flight to Cusco, which needs to land by 10:30 am (the flight itself isn't included in your tour). Once you arrive, get transferred to your hotel to settle in. Around 1 pm, you'll join a guided 4-hour tour covering Santo Domingo Convent, built directly over the Inca Coricancha temple, Cusco's Cathedral, and the Sacsayhuaman fortress with its panoramic views. The tour also includes the temples of Qenqo and Puka Pukara before you return to your hotel around 5:30 pm.

Sacred Valley
You'll be picked up at 8 am for a 1-hour visit to Chinchero, a traditional town where locals keep Inca artisan traditions alive and the valley views are really nice. You'll see archaeological remains and a 17th-century church while there. Next, you transfer to the Living Museum of Yucay to watch demonstrations of textile, pottery, and silverware work, plus you get to interact with llamas, sheep, and alpacas. Lunch happens at a local restaurant in Ollantaytambo around 1 pm, then you'll climb the Ollantaytambo fortress before heading back to your hotel around 4 pm.

Machu Picchu
After breakfast, you'll take a train to Aguas Calientes, the town that serves as your gateway to Machu Picchu, with its markets and restaurants. From there, a 25-minute bus ride gets you to Machu Picchu itself, the 'Lost City of the Incas' that historians believe was built around 1450 as an Inca emperor's retreat. You'll have a 2.5-hour guided tour through this UNESCO site before returning by bus to Aguas Calientes to grab lunch. Later you'll take the train back to Ollanta Station and transfer to your Cusco hotel.
