Itinerary
- Day 1
Kigali
Your driver will meet you at Kigali Airport or collect you from your hotel. First stop is the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, where you'll pay respects to those who died in 1994. From there, it's roughly a 4 to 5 hour drive to reach your lodge in the rainforest region. You'll be staying in a self-contained safari cottage, so settle in and rest up since gorilla trekking starts tomorrow.

- Day 2
Volcanoes National Park
This is the main event. Eat breakfast early, then head out into the tropical rainforest with your guide and packed lunch. After the ranger gives you a briefing on what to expect and safety guidelines, you'll start trekking through the forest looking for mountain gorillas. You might see them feeding, playing with each other, or just going about their day. How long this takes varies a lot depending on where the gorillas are that day, so plan for anywhere from a few hours up to 6 or more hours on your feet.

- Day 3
Volcanoes National Park to Kigali
Have breakfast, then get ready for the drive back to Kigali. The journey takes you out of the rainforest region and back toward the city, so you'll have time to process what you saw and maybe catch up on rest during the ride.
