Itinerary
- Day 1
Norrköping to Saint Anna
You'll get picked up at Norrköping train station or your hotel at 10:00 AM, then drive through rolling countryside for roughly an hour to reach Saint Anna on the coast. This is where your kayaking adventure launches from, so you'll arrive with the afternoon still ahead of you.

Saint Anna Archipelago
Start with a safety briefing and navigation overview before repacking gear and loading the kayaks. From there you'll paddle northeast through calm bay waters, passing forested islands where you might spot white-tailed eagles. The route takes you through Uggelholmarna Nature Reserve with its ancient pines and lindens, then on to the islets south of Aspöja where you'll catch the sunset from the water.

Outer Archipelago
Head out southeast into the outer archipelago with its windswept islands and bird sanctuaries. You'll paddle through the Missj ö Archipelago, a ten-kilometer stretch dotted with hundreds of small islets. By afternoon you'll reach Kupa Klint, a famous navigation landmark with solid views, then stop by the local pub on Missj ö. Mats, who runs the boat taxi service, usually hangs around and shares good stories about the region and its history.

Harstena and Torrön
Paddle south to Harstena, the most visited island in this area. You can check out the museum housed in an old school building, grab cinnamon swirls from the bakery, and eat lunch at the restaurant by the water. Later you'll continue west to Torrön, which has a nice mix of islets with shallow waters, smooth rocks, calm creeks and underwater bladder wrack forests to paddle through.

Landmarks/POIs Harstena Torrön - Day 5
Väggö, Ämtö Nature Reserve, and Håskö
This day covers some of the most dramatic areas you'll see. Paddle through a narrow strait to Väggö where rock walls rise straight up from the water. After that, you'll explore Ämtö Nature Reserve with its open forests and several hiking trails through agricultural areas, rocky pine forests and oak meadows. Stop at Håskö, a traditional homestead serving fresh deboned perch and alder smoked salmon, then relax at their wood-fired sauna. From there you'll paddle south through Kråkmarsö's quieter regions toward Gubbö.

Gubbö to Häradskar Lighthouse
Hike up Gubbö hill on a thirty-minute trail to reach an ancient navigation mark seafarers used for centuries. The views show off the surrounding islands, and you'll likely spot white-tailed eagles. If you want, paddle south through the islands near Laxvarp toward Häradskar lighthouse, the archipelago's final outpost where it meets open sea. You'll hear just bird calls and waves hitting the rocks.

Fångö and Return
Wake up in the islet clusters south of Fångö. Take a swim and eat a solid breakfast before paddling up Fångö's eastern side to see the abandoned copper mine from the 1800s with its deep shafts and old building foundations. Circle the island and kayak through a narrow canal, cross a strait westward to reach the mainland endpoint. After unloading the kayaks at the dock, you can walk around the marina, get ice cream, and think back on finishing a solid self-guided kayaking trip.
