I did this trip just after Xmas 2015. Absolutely loved it! We were lucky with the weather and it was not scorching hot and so could do all of the planned walks - Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) and the full Kings Canyon rim walk. Plus there had been a bit of rain so all of the waterholes had enough water to swim in. The Base Walk at Uluru at dawn was a highlight, as well as Kings Canyon. Camping facilities were better than expected, as was the food. Ash, our guide did a sensational job, full of knowledge and interesting stories, plus respect for the aboriginals. I highly recommend this trip!!

When's the Best Time to Visit Uluru?

It's perfect timing for experiences like the Kings Canyon Rim Walk which takes about 3 hours and takes you past these incredible sandstone formations they call the 'Lost City' and this beautiful green oasis known as the 'Garden of Eden.'
What Can't You Miss While You're at Uluru?
There's this amazing Kings Canyon hike where you'll discover the "Lost City" rock formations and this gorgeous spot called the "Garden of Eden" - lots of 3-day tours from Alice Springs include this. You really shouldn't miss watching the sun come up over Uluru it's absolutely magical. The local First Nations guides share fascinating insights about bush tucker and traditional dot painting and the Walpa Gorge walk through Kata Tjuta is spectacular.
