- NNeelu· January 5th, 2017I went on a G Adventures trip to Africa this past December. No complaints regarding the trip. I found out, however, that the company charged me 25% more than other passengers -- if you go on a trip and are American, DO NOT book through the US web site. They charge different pricing for people from other countries. People from the US are asked to pay about 25% more than Canadians or Europeans. Disappointing and unethical, discriminatory practice to say the least.Show moreNational Geographic Journeys with G Adventures commented on this reviewThanks Neelu. We don’t adjust prices on a per market basis; we generally set our prices competitively once per year globally and they aren’t adjusted when currency fluctuates. This isn’t a case of us charging Americans more, it’s a case of the US dollar... Show moreTrip date: December 2016
- Roger· August 17th, 2016I looked at the trip notes and read that you have to have a high level of fitness and be fit enough to trek for up to 9 hours in humid rainforests to track chimps and gorillas. As I enjoy trekking to look for wildlife this sounded perfect for me, I was very misled. We first went to look at golden monkeys and it became clear that 4 of the people in our group were the exact opposite of the fitness level expected. I told the guide that I paid a lot of money to do some proper trekking and said I can't go with these people as did 1 other person in our group. We were charged $50 US each to join another group. I am disgusted at being charged extra as we had done exactly what was asked of us and were fit, if anyone should have been charged it should have been the others. It got worse with the chimp tracking as again they couldn't do it so we were unable to track chimps and just had a little walk around the forest. Our guide was very good though and really helpful so I put no blame on him but G adventures are advertising very badly and I would not consider using them again. This is the first time I've ever sent a complaint about something like this as I usually just let it go but this has really riled meShow moreNational Geographic Journeys with G Adventures commented on this reviewThanks for the detailed review Roger, and our apologies things didn't go as we all would have liked.
