La Serena
You'll arrive in La Serena and get settled at your hotel. Once you've dropped your bags, the afternoon and evening are yours to wander around. The historic downtown has some centuries-old churches worth checking out, and Plaza de Armas is a nice spot to grab a coffee or just sit for a bit. If the weather cooperates and the skies are clear, there's an optional stargazing session at a nearby astronomical observatory in the evening, which is a great way to end your first day here.

Elqui Valley Hiking
This morning you're heading into the Elqui Valley starting from Pisco Elqui for a hiking trip. The trek covers about 7.5 km on lesser-known trails, and you'll pass through one of the valley's most distinctive ravines with mountain views opening up around you. After that, you continue eastward to a natural viewpoint along the estero derecho where you can take in the full panoramic view of the valley stretching out below.

Solar Cuisine & Pisco Mixology
This day focuses on food and drink. You'll participate in a sustainable culinary experience that uses solar power to cook. In the afternoon, head to the Capel Tourist Center where a professional bartender runs a mixology workshop. You'll learn hands-on how to make two signature cocktails using pisco, which is Chile's traditional spirit.

Landmarks/POIs Capel Tourist Center - Day 4
Humboldt Penguin National Reserve & Choros Island
Early departure to Choros Island and the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve. On the water, you'll spot Humboldt penguins, sea otters, sea lions, and cormorants, and if luck is on your side, dolphins too. You'll land at Damas Island for about an hour to walk the interpretive trails or spend time on the white-sand beaches. After returning to the mainland, there's a local lunch, then you visit an artisanal olive oil producer. The drive back to La Serena gives you chances to spot guanacos, gray foxes, and wild donkeys in their natural habitat.

After breakfast, you have time for one last walk along the sea or a quiet hour exploring La Serena's historic district before heading out. Later, you'll transfer to the airport or bus terminal for your departure.
