Moshi to Rongai Gate
Head out from Moshi early and travel to Rongai Gate, where your Mount Kilimanjaro trek officially begins. The drive takes a few hours, and once you arrive, you'll start your first trek to Simba Camp. The trail winds through forest terrain at lower altitude, so the initial climb feels manageable. You'll reach camp by afternoon, giving you time to settle in and eat dinner.

Simba Camp to Kikelelwa Camp

This day involves steady hiking with breaks for water and snacks. By evening, you'll arrive at Kikelelwa Camp and can rest your legs.

Kikelelwa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp

The scenery shifts as you move into alpine zones. The camp sits at significant altitude, so take things slowly and stay hydrated. Dinner will be waiting when you arrive.

Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Camp
Travel from Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Camp, your staging point for the summit attempt. This day's trek is shorter but the altitude is significant now, around 15,100 feet/4,600 meters. You'll arrive with plenty of daylight left, which means an early dinner and early bedtime. The guides will prepare you for the midnight summit push that comes next.

Kibo Camp to Horombo Camp

Marangu to Moshi

Once in Moshi, you can shower properly, eat a real meal, and start planning your next travels. This wraps up your Mount Kilimanjaro experience.
