We had time to get off the cruise and buy some at regular prices but was that necessary? The tours were nice but you have very little time to explore on your own. The vendors and carriages to and from the sites are relentless even when tipped. Towards the end they hand you an envelope with your room number and track how much you’re tipping into their pool. Our tour guide wanted to sell us several additional tours but once he found out we’d look into exploring on our own stopped responding to our inquiries or being helpful. I didn’t really feel seen as a guest but more as a dollar, euro or pound sign.Show more

The boat food was buffet style and a nice selection of dishes; the desserts could be much better however. The staff was extremely friendly as well on the boat. Our guide was fantastic and so wonderful about ideas and arrangements. We aren't 'cruise' people so 2 nights was perfect for us. Our tour guide Osama was extremely knowledgeable and an all out blast to hang out with. We left with a new friend in Egypt. My only complaint is with the scheduling, we booked a 4 day 3 night. We sailed the first day and night but then docked midday the second day and unbeknownst to us the sailing portion had concluded. The next two nights we stayed on docked boat in the Nile. We finished our planned tours within three days and had to pay for an extra tour for our last day. This complicated our other plans while in Egypt.
