Bogotá
You'll arrive in Bogotá this afternoon and connect with your German-speaking guide. From there it's a transfer to your hotel in Candelaria, the historic heart of the city, where you're staying for two nights in a beautiful colonial property.

Bogotá
Start at Paloquemao market where you can talk with vendors about their products and local routines. After that, head through the old town to see Plaza de Bolívar and the churches of San Francisco and La Tercera. Take the cable car up Monserrate for city views. The rest of the afternoon is free to walk the colonial streets and recover from jet lag.

Bogotá to Villa de Leyva
You'll explore the Gold Museum with its collection of pre-Columbian artifacts, then drive to Zipaquirá to tour the Salt Cathedral located 120 meters underground. Later, pass through the pilgrimage site of Chiquinquirá and the pottery village of Raquirá before arriving in Villa de Leyva, a colonial town with cobbled streets.

Villa de Leyva to Coffee Zone
Continue in Villa de Leyva with visits to the 17th century Ecce Homo monastery and El Fósil Museum, which features paleontological pieces and a Pliosaurus specimen. After driving back toward Bogotá, stop at Puente de Boyacá where Bolívar won independence in 1813. Later you'll fly to the coffee zone and settle at a coffee farm for two nights.

Coffee Zone
Hike through Cocora Valley to see the wax palms that grow up to 60 meters tall. You can walk or ride horses through the lush landscapes and cloud forests. Stop in Salento, a colorful village with traditional architecture, cafés, and local handicrafts.

Coffee Zone to Medellín
At a hacienda you'll learn about coffee growing, harvesting, and processing, then enjoy freshly brewed coffee. From there, drive through green landscape along the Río Cauca into Antioquia toward Medellín. You'll stay in El Poblado, a modern district with restaurants, bars, and shops nearby.

Medellín
Check out how Medellín transformed from a dangerous city into an innovative metropolis. Tour Comuna 13, once considered one of the world's most dangerous areas, now colorful and safe. See the Sculpture Park with works by Botero, visit San Antonio Park and the city center, and stop at Pueblito Paisa for views and to meet residents about the city's change.

Medellín to Tayrona
You'll fly from Medellín airport to Santa Marta on the Caribbean coast, a flight under an hour. Transfer to beachfront bungalows in the Tayrona National Park area for two nights. The Sierra Nevada mountains with peaks near 6,000 meters sit just 50km away, and you can take early morning beach walks with snow-capped mountain views.

Spend the day relaxing at your beachfront hotel, enjoying the Caribbean atmosphere, local flora, and wildlife around you.

Tayrona to Cartagena
Drive along the Caribbean coast through Santa Marta and the Ciénaga Grande wetlands toward Cartagena. Once you arrive, check in at your hotel in the old town and tour the highlights including La Popa monastery at 140 meters high and the San Felipe de Barajas fortress. Wander through squares, churches, and colonial streets in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
