- Aimee· October 18th, 2022Great tour - not only did we have a fantastic time on Safari and get to see the Big 5 but our cook (Malinga), driver (Steve) and guide (Leah) were fantastic. They went over and beyond to help us see so many animals, were patient when we had any issues, and ensured I could eat all the meals (I can't have dairy or gluten). All in all a great trip for the cost. Although be warned this is 100% a rough and tough camping trip - expect zero luxury!Show more

On The Go ToursOperator•Written October 2025Please try to keep your luggage to a minimum, bearing in mind that most airlines impose a 20kg limit. It should be brought in a soft holdall or rucksack along with a smaller day bag. Please try to avoid bringing unnecessary valuables and use your hotel safe to store the bulk of your money, passport, and airline tickets. A mixture of lightweight clothing and warm clothing for the evenings and early morning game drives. A small torch or headlamp Mosquito spray A money pouch / belt that can be easily hidden A power bank for recharging electronic devices is also handy A photocopy of your passport data pages and travel insurance details Hat, sunglasses & sunscreen A full 'What to Bring' list is included in our pre-departure dossier, issued when you book. NB: KENYA PLASTIC BAG BAN - All forms of plastic carrier bags are banned in Kenya; including 'Airport Duty Free' plastic bags, airport security plastic bags for liquids, shopping bags, storage bags, zip-lock plastic bags. The strict ban applies to everyone, and it is mandatory that you leave any form of plastic bag/s at your country of origin. NB: TANZANIA PLASTIC BAG BAN - Tanzania has a ban on single-use plastic. Prohibited items include single-use plastic carrier bags, shopping bags/packing plastic carrier bags. Ziplock bags and storage compartment bags (e.g., toiletries) will be permitted as they are expected to remain in possession of traveller. We do however suggest that you leave these items behind in your country of origin.

The difference between accommodated and non accommodated is - surprise, the accommodation! The non accommodated version is camping in tents, while the accommodated version spends the majority of it's time in permanent tents with beds (shared bathrooms). There are 5 nights where you will be camping on this tour.
