- Day 1
Düsseldorf to Tenerife to La Gomera
You'll fly from Düsseldorf to Tenerife, then board a ferry for the crossing to La Gomera. Once you arrive in San Sebastián, you'll find yourself in a charming town with romantic squares and a nice promenade running along sandy beaches. The place carries real historical weight too—it's where Christopher Columbus set sail in 1492 before heading across the Atlantic.

San Sebastián
After breakfast, you'll head out on a short introductory hike that takes you up to a viewpoint overlooking a secluded bay. From there, you can see the island's capital and the coastline stretching out below. Later in the afternoon, you'll finish with a swim in the Atlantic to cool off after the hike.

Landmarks San Sebastián - Day 3
San Sebastián to Chipude
Your main trekking begins at Roque de Agando, where you'll climb up to Pico de Garajonay. The views from the top reach across La Gomera and take in neighboring islands like El Hierro, La Palma, and Tenerife. You'll then descend through a pine forest, eventually reaching Chipude at the base of an imposing table mountain.

Chipude to Las Hayas
This hike takes you through El Cercado, a pottery village where locals still make traditional pottery using methods that go back to indigenous times. You'll walk past old terraced fields and see views of the southern gorges and Valle Gran Rey. The route ends at Las Hayas, known for producing traditional palm honey.

Las Hayas to Vallehermoso
You'll hike through what feels like a fairytale forest with twisted tree branches covered in moss. Panoramic views open up showing the archipelago's lush landscapes all around. By late afternoon, you'll descend into Vallehermoso, which translates to 'beautiful valley' and you'll see why with its mountain scenery.

Vallehermoso to Agulo
Starting from Vallehermoso, you'll walk toward Agulo, often called the island's most beautiful village. Roque Cano stands impressively through misty air along the way. The old Camino Real path brings you down into Agulo with its winding alleyways and colorful doors. Locals call it the tropical garden of La Gomera.

Landmarks Roque Cano Agulo - Day 7
Agulo
Today you can relax in Agulo and soak in the village atmosphere from your accommodation. If you prefer to keep moving, there's an optional hike to a beautiful bay nearby. The neighboring village of Hermigua is worth a walk through if you want to see more of the area.

Landmarks Agulo Hermigua - Day 8
Agulo to El Cedro
An old village path climbs gradually into a long valley with cultivated plantations and views across the Hermigua valley. You'll reach El Cedro, a small hamlet where you'll stay in a former finca, a traditional Gomeran farmhouse. Later, there's a gathering with local wine to meet people and hear stories from the area.

El Cedro to Valle Gran Rey
You'll walk through the Laurisilva, a laurel forest filled with evergreen trees, giant ferns, and tree heather creating a mystical setting. Trade wind clouds often roll through and locals call this 'the moist breath of God.' After descending through this lush environment, you'll reach Valle Gran Rey with its palm trees and terraced fields spreading below.

Valle Gran Rey
You have two full days to relax in Valle Gran Rey. The climate is warm, the beaches are nice, and the natural scenery is impressive. Stay at your accommodation and enjoy the pace, or if you feel up for it, there's an optional hike to the Arure waterfall.

La Gomera to Tenerife
You'll take the ferry from La Gomera back to Tenerife. From there, you can arrange your travel home or continue onward to another destination. This marks the end of your La Gomera hiking tour.
