- HHeather· January 20th, 2025Exceeded all expectations!!! My friend and I booked without much prior research into the different routes of Kilimanjaro or what it entailed. We landed on our feet with World Adventure Tours (associated with Zara tours, both female owned companies). We did the 6-day Machame route, which was beautiful, and each day was a new captivating landscape. Our guides Living and TomTom were professional, inspiring, great company and FUN!! We grooved our way up that mountain (Living's afro-piano playlist is off the charts good!). It was clear they were well-respected with other guides/teams on the mountain and in Moshi. Our entire team of guides, porters, chef and waiter were OUTSTANDING (shout out to Joseph, who was a delight to see at the beginning and end of every hike) and we couldn't have asked for better company. Meeting other hikers along the route and hearing their experiences, we realised just how lucky we had been even from initially booking through to the end of the tour. Our tour contact Joyce was exceptionally clear and kept us well-informed throughout, making sure we were always on the same page about the plans. The hotel Springlands at the beginning and end of the tour blew us away, all the staff (shout out to Nur) and even the transfers in between all were well beyond what we had anticipated. Springlands celebrated my birthday with a delicious cake and all the staff came and sang which was a special gesture I will always remember ❤️ By pure chance, we ended up booking this tour and it feels like we were blessed 🙏 Don’t pass up this chance—you won’t regret it! SIX STARS!!! (PS - We met a couple who did safari with World Adventure Tours who also sang their praises).Show moreWorld Adventure Tours commented on this reviewThank you, Heather. - Lianna· March 18th, 2023March 18th, 2023 Despite not summitting, I can truly say the trip was well organized and supported from our wonderful guides - Freddy and Nicholas, to all the porters who worked so hard to keep our spirits up. We were in good hands and well looked after at all times. There was a variety of food and plenty of it. The Machame route is perhaps more difficult, but it is very scenic. Our plan had to be changed a big on day four when I elected to go down one camp (escorted by a guide), while the rest of our group was able to complete to the summit. The next day we regrouped and were able to come down together. I may go back and attempt this again, perhaps with a longer route. Many good memories were made.Show moreWorld Adventure Tours commented on this reviewThank you for your kind words, Lianna. We take great pride in our guides and all of our team. Asked on June 15th, 2023Where does this tour start and finish?
- World Adventure ToursOperator•Written June 2023
Your Kili climb starts and finishes in Moshi, usually at Springlands Hotel or a similar standard of accommodation of your choice. This will be your home away from home, a great climbers base to get settled in and make all the preparations you need to make before your climb and where you will be coming back to after your climb for a well-deserved hot shower and celebration with your team.

- World Adventure ToursOperator•Written June 2023
Expect a practical and climber-friendly accommodation. The usual accommodation before a Kili climb is Springlands Hotel. This is a comfortable and practical hotel, perfect for climbers. The rooms have many options. You can be in doubles, triples, or even have four people share a room. The rooms are clean and comfortable - no frills. The surroundings are green, and you can get fantastic views of the mountain on a clear day. You can rent any equipment you may need from their well equipped rental store. There is a pool, sauna, small gift shop, wifi and a wonderful Garden bar where you can sit underneath guava trees and enjoy a beer or a cup of coffee.

- World Adventure ToursOperator•Written June 2023
Unfortunately not, once the tour has started then you will need to book another start date for your climb. We want you to experience the best possible trek and avoid stressing to catch up with the other climbers. This trip is a lifetime achievement, and it needs the proper time allocated for a climb. Asked on June 15th, 2023How much time is spent at each attraction?
- World Adventure ToursOperator•Written June 2023
On the climb you spend one night per hut. You can add in extra nights at the same camp to spend a little more time, a perfect way to acclimatize, enjoy the landscape by taking a day trek and increase your chances of reaching the summit.

Asked on June 15th, 2023What is the physical rating for this tour?
- World Adventure ToursOperator•Written June 2023
You need to be generally healthy before a Kili climb, so no serious health conditions, that goes without saying. The interesting part about climbing Kili is that, a lot comes down to the mental determination of the climber rather than their physical conditioning or strength. Ofcourse, if you are well trained then you will most likely adjust quicker to the physical aspects of the climb but remember, that there is also the altitude that needs to be taken into consideration, and everyone reacts differently to this. The important part is to be well prepared, follow the instructions of your guide, because they prepare you to make the summit according to your individual capabilities. Drinking lots of water helps a lot! One more thing to take seriously, is the choice of route and number of days to be considered alongside your physical rating. The Marangu is known as the Coca-Colar Route, because it is considered the kindest of routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. The accommodation is in Huts, which also makes this route more comfortable. The Machame Route, is known as the Whiskey route because it is a harder trek to climb compared to the Marangu Route. The Lemosho route is known for its epic landscapes, and special because you go through a jungle with an armed ranger. But if you are extra nervous about making it to the summit, then adding in acclimatization days increases you chance of making it to the summit and this can be done on all routes. So, route choice and number of days is important to factor in with your physical capabilities.
