Our tour guide Felipe was always there for us whenever we needed him and before we even knew we needed him. Our chef Alfredo prepared the most delicious meals for everyone. What really made my boyfriend and I so happy was the fact that our chef Alfredo made me vegan and gluten-free meals breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it was scrumptious! That right there is the GREEN MACHINE. Felipe and Alfredo always had a smile on their face day in day out, it made us happy just to see them. They really cater to your needs and are there for you. Every campsite we stayed at had the most stunning landscapes. A big plus was the pop-up toilets, talk about comfort at the campsite. The tents were of excellent quality and were clean everyday. Miguel was our guide during the Inca Trail and between him, our incredible chef Segundino and all the Chaskis that supported the tour we have a memorable experience. Everything about the planning process was smooth even when we had to reschedule last minute because of flight delays. All of these Inca sites, including Machu Picchu itself, are incredible places that both children and adults enjoy.

Regarding your questions: Cusco's elevation is 3300m / 11,300ft. Dry season is characterized by blue skies and sunny conditions. This season spans from April to October and is considered to be the best season for hiking in the Cusco region. The Inca Trail closes for maintenance in February each year. We have availability for the Inca Trail Experience 8D/ 7N (Group Service) starting on May 23th, 2024.

We are interested in the 8D/7N Inca Trail to Machu Picchu by Alpaca Expeditions. Second question, what is the cancellation policy or COVID/Sickness policy?

Currently, there is no limit age for people doing the Inca Trail. In our experience, we had people even 75 years old. Once we will purchase your permit for the Inca Trail these are non-refundable and non-transferable, so in case of cancelation we can apply for a partial refund minus $200 per person. There is no need to pass a COVID test to go on this trek and also to enter the country.

We have availability starting on June 15th which allows you to start Inca trail on June 17th. If you book the itinerary, it will add a single room for the nights you stay in Cusco, $30 per night, is 4 night hotel total $120 to the tour price.

The itinerary will be: June 15th: Welcome to Cusco, June 16th: Sacred Valley, June 17th-19th: Inca Trail - Camping, June 20th: Machu Picchu and back to Cusco, June 21st: Rainbow Mountain, June 22nd: transfer back to the airport. The price for the tour is $1152. For being a solo traveler, a single room will be total $120 for 4-night hotel. Inca Trail does not include sleeping bag, trekking poles and air matt, they are available for rent in Cusco.
