- Cat· May 8th, 2025To be entirely frank, we came in with very low expectations given we are not cruise people (this is the only cruise we have ever done - we are a early 30s French/Australian Chinese couple who prefer to travel independently) and a number of horror stories we had heard. This ended up being one of the highlights of the trip and one of the best travel experiences we have had to date. We had the boat King Tut 3 and were guided by Talaat Abdo. The itinerary is fast-paced and could perhaps be optimised (e.g. on the second day you wake up at 0330 to take a 3.5 hour bus to Abu Simbel - we wondered whether it would have been possible for the boat to move overnight?) but manages to fit an enormous number of sites into a very short time. Prepare to wake up at 0330, 0515, and 0400. Time spent at sites varied from 10 minutes for the dam to 45-90 minutes for significant sites - it was quite rushed at times but again necessary in order to visit all the sites, which are sublime. The temples are awe-inspiring. Some people in our group didn't have the hot air ballooning included - we would highly recommend adding it if it's not. The views are extraordinary, you're in the air for 35-45 minutes, and waking up at 0400 is more than worth it. They will take you to two shops (spices/tea and essential oils) where you sit through a 15-30 minute sales pitch but the prices were fair (we compared with other tourists who had been taken to similar shops including in Cairo). Prepare yourself also to tip the crew a total of~$20USD. Your guide will ask for this at the start. We also tipped Talaat $40USD at the end. There were some discontents but we found that things generally worked very smoothly and think that it's warranted. The guide will also offer to buy tickets for $102USD at the beginning so as to save time when queuing at monuments. Talaat Abdo was lovely. He was knowledgeable about sights, spoke good English, and would give us an idea of reasonable prices to pay for items in shops etc. The boat was wonderful. Clean, comfortable, and spacious rooms with a shower/bath in the bathroom. The food was very good - the Egyptian night was by far and away the best but the other dinners were very reasonable (lots of vegetables, rice, several protein options). Desserts available were a range of small cakes/pastries/fruits. I'm confused as to why they don't serve Egyptian bread everyday - for those who care, the bread served most days was a range of Western-style white buns/breads (which we personally find quite average). The breakfast bags provided on two mornings (due to very early starts) were mediocre - to our shock the crew informed us after the first morning that they give them to locals so we didn't touch them on the second and just gave them away. Overall there was some disorganisation at times (minor changes to itinerary, sometimes needing to clarify times), but nothing drastic. - Louie· May 3rd, 2025DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE CROOKS! I went with my Egyptian friend (I am a British male, she is female). We respected local customs and booked separate rooms. Despite this, on the 2nd day, Talaat (the tour guide!) decided to verbally attack her with all the religious dogma and insults about how she should not be travelling with me (a British man) and proceeded to harass and lecture her via WhatsApp. I’M STILL IN SHOCK TO BE HONEST. She was absolutely shocked and scared. She spent the rest of the day in the cabin, scared to come out and left the tour when it docked in Luxor. She missed 1 night of sleep and 6 temples - and EGYPT BEST TOURS IS REFUSING TO APOLOGISE AND REIMBURSE HER… absolutely disgusting. I also had a horrible rest of the tour. The next day, Talaat tried dirty tactics (such as taking a selfie with me) to use as evidence that I was ok. How awful. I have travelled to many countries and now, unfortunately due to Talaat and how Egypt best tours do ‘business’ I come away feeling like Egypt is an awful country to visit and I DEEPLY REGRET GIVING THESE GUYS MY HARD EARNED MONEY. I AM NOT STOPPING HERE. I am going to the tourist police, British embassy and taking this to the very top. cruise tour is like a package tour, can't be devided or aparted, it's group tour and we will arrange private pick up from Aswan airport at 8 pm and we will book the night if 30th as well in the Nile Cruise, just small tour on Aswan will be missed because of late arrival
