Overpriced and false advertising about the age limit resulted in a poor overall experience. The tour itinerary and the leader/driver were excellent and would get 5 stars however Acacia advertise these tours as exclusively for people 18-39 and this simply wasn't the case. When we arrived half the tour group were elderly (well into their 60's and 70's) and that meant straight away the group was divided into the young and the old. This also meant that I was partnered with an old man in my accommodation who snored so loudly it was completely impossible to sleep, even with ear plugs. This meant I was left with no choice but to pay more money to upgrade my accommodation to a single room and this simply blew out the cost of this holiday. I paid approximately $1400 more for the accommodated version of this tour so i could ensure i got a decent night sleep, but then had to pay another $500 or so to upgrade during the tour for my own room. If I had been on the camping version of the trip to start with I would have likely saved close to $1000.

Starting this trip, I was a little worried about how I would be solo travelling in Africa. Moyenda was an amazing tour guide who is full of information and if he doesn’t know the answer to your question he’ll be sure to find out. He is very easy going with getting to know everyone and making sure we have the best trip possible. My trip wouldn’t have been the same without Moyenda!
