Katherine· September 28th, 2024As I travelled out of season Unu Raymi kindly at my request organised a guide for me for 2 days in el chalten with whom I hiked to Pliegue de Tumbado and Laguna Los Tres. I was very glad to have a guide for Pliegue de Tumbado as there were very few people there out of season (and I was a solo traveller). Luis was very patient, friendly and kind and told me lots about the nature and the park. He guided us very carefully through the snow and thanks to him I was able to enjoy a hike I wouldn't have otherwise (as the trail was totally covered with snow) and I got much more from it than just hiking by myself. We also hiked los tres together (on which there are many more people) via the rio electrico route at his suggestion which turned out to be a great idea. We enjoyed views of fitzroy from all different angles and had a fun day. He guided me carefully through the snowy areas at the top of fitzroy and taught me how to use crampons and poles (since it was my first time using these) so while many others fell on the way I was happy not to! Luis was very flexible, allowing us to choose the days with best weather and giving me great suggestions of new paths to try on the other days. For me it was perfect as I was very hesitant about hiking alone. Organisation was very smooth and easy by whatsapp and I wouldnt hesitate to use again.Show more
