Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco
You'll arrive in Cusco and take the morning easy while your body adjusts to the altitude - around 11,000 feet up. After settling in a bit, the afternoon is when things get going. You'll head out to see Qoricancha, the old Sun Temple that was central to Inca worship, then move on to Sacsayhuamán, a massive fortress with huge stone walls that overlook the city. From there you'll check out the smaller sites scattered around - Qenqo, Tambomachay, and Pucapucara - before heading back to your hotel by evening.

- Day 2
Cusco to Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu
An early start gets you to Ollantaytambo train station, about an hour and a half by bus from Cusco. You'll board the train that runs down into the valley toward Aguas Calientes, then catch a bus up the steep road to Machu Picchu. A guide takes you through the site for two hours, walking you past the temples and terraces and explaining what you're looking at. After that you'll head back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch, then reverse the journey - train back to Ollantaytambo and a transfer to get you back to your Cusco hotel by evening.

Cusco to Lima
This morning is yours to do what you want. You could rest after the busy days before, or wander around Cusco again and see what else catches your interest. In the afternoon, someone will pick you up and take you to the airport for your flight to Lima, which wraps up the tour.
